What speeds were you getting before

The 3G in the areas I frequent have been ridiculously slow as of late (sub - 100 kbps) when I used to get at least ~600 kbps. Would that indicate tower work is being done?

Wow. 101 sites for this week's update.

Were they mostly in West LA? I noticed some outages around my area this past weekend.

i wish that they would futher their work around Dodgers stadium. It is just death in there for sprint. VZW and ATT seem to be fine, it's t-mo and Sprint that just can't hold a signal. I get an OK when in 4G but i can barely hold it. My tickets are by the visiting bullpen, so there's room for improvement.

I called in and they confirmed NV work being done. Sprint normally has strongest signal at my house, but it went to no signal at all recently.

Unless the May 2nd Carbon nightly greatly improved my radio LTE speeds were much improved in Downtown LA all along the 110 freeway and PCH. I watched several innings of baseball on the MLB At Bat app with only one hiccup when my bus was going by USC.

I went to the Dodger game last night against the Angels. Got signal for 3G and 4G, but data wouldn't work. I would guess that the network's congested.

My friend's AT&T 4G LTE phone worked though.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Dodger Stadium went through a process where they put WiFi in every part of the ballpark.

That's even worse then.  There was no WiFi to be had during that game. I just wanted 3G to check my e-mail and my Hangouts but alas that didn't happen.

I'll be at Angel Stadium tonight where my phone has picked up LTE throughout the stadium (except club suites).

Let's see how well it performs when there's at least 20000 people at the stadium.

Let me clarify, I've been to over a half dozen Angels games, and my phone had consistently picked up LTE before, during, and after games at the Big A.

When I am on Sunset Blvd. In Echo Park, between Echo Park Avenue and Portia, there is no Sprint service at all and my phone goes to roam. I think that's odd for a major street.

He was speaking for DODGER Stadium, which will not have a finished working Wifi network until june/july.

The BIG A has a tower close by and one a few miles away in SA.

There is a tower up at the top of the hill behind the outfield, you can see it as you exit the stadium.  It has been upgraded, just not sure on the backhaul and when 4G will broadcast.  Hopefully sooner rather then later.

Dodger stadium is atrocious. Once i was in the stadium, i had full bars, but calls were unavailable, messaging was unavailable and data was a "Good luck Charlie Brown" deal.  4G was more usable then 3g, but with it coming in at -120dB or so, it was almost unusable 85% of the time.

I'm glad i don't have season tickets or i would be activating my old EVO 4G just for the wimax.

Towers in Glendale, CA on Hawthorne and Wilson just went live with 4G!

I think it went live on Thursday, I had an amazing signal at my office in Glendale, but then Friday I was back to what it was before. I think they may have been testing but if that's the case then I will be stoked when they go full live.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
