EPayne123
I'd like to believe that backhaul has started. There's been plenty of people complaining about a Mexican guy answering the phone whenever they place a call. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2 Yeah. . . WHAT!? ddcitanul
I was equally confused when I has multiple people telling me that their calls were not going thru and they all had some guy picking it up on the other end. This was at the beginning of last week in the Sarasota area Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
PO58
On my way back to the Cape, I ran sensorly and picked up LTE , somewhere along Colonial and Fowler. It should be on the map soon. It might be from the tower that I took a picture of and they were testing it, maybe.

Was that Colonial tower the one between Cleveland and Metro just north of Page Field, or the one further east toward Winkler and 6 Mile Cypress? Jswets
Im heading down to Sarasota to visit my dad in late March. Hopefully i will get to experience LTE in Tampa for a short while before getting into Sarasota. Might see a tower or two when im there with LTE. Crossing my fingers! PS. My dad lives just outside Sarasota and there is virtually no reception at his house. Maybe LTE on 800 will change that in the future! bobprobert
wonder if it was just a stray signal being picked up from the overpass there
PO58
I just picked up a brief and weak LTE signal near Santa Barbara and Trafalgar. It should be on the sensorly map shortly.

rp3
Am I right in saying that I have read att is only covering some areas with lte. Every where I look and on every tower I see att putting up panels. I have seen them put up panels on every tower around Sarasota that are in my area. So my question is if there only covering some towers as I have read why are they going on every tower I see so quickly?
lilotimz
They're putting them up as fast as they can and in as much places as they can. They will sooner or later face the data crunch that Verizon is facing and so am preparing as many towers to be LTE 700/850/AWS capable as humanely possible. Doesn't mean they'll launch LTE in every one of them.

I just don't understand how there getting them up so quick.
lilotimz
They still support the standard ATT frequencies and are better in doing so. Just like how new Sprint NV panels can do what the legacy old panels can do but better. It's always better to have similar gear on all your towers even if the technology in them is not completely turned on. It simplifies logistics and stockpiling of replacement parts in case any of them needs to be modified / repaired. Not to mention, legacy panels for all carriers are going to be likely over 10 years old at this point from a quagmire of different OEMs. Better to coalesce under a few standard ones that are going to be nationwide. Saves money down the road.
