Seems like a stretch but could it be from the doctors inlet tower..... thought crossed my mind this morning

what signal strength do you get from the lte debugging screen? Dialer code ##DEBUG# WITH sprint as password.

Just tried out T-Mobile for laughs (Test Drive, which is a kind of cool attraction.)  Anyways, I've come to the conclusion that Sprint is better here, coverage-wise.  I'd rather have a reliable method

I'm safe. Sprint holding up well. 4.5 million without power. The eye of the storm coming straight for Marion county with 100mph winds. I hope I have a home to go to when this is over.

Ill check when passing thru in the morning

Now that I'm looking at the Sensorly maps (I forgot it reports signal strength, too.) It looks like it's completely possible that it's the Doctor's Inlet tower. Keep us updated and thanks for contributing to Sensorly for all of us. ;)

 

I'm literally across the river to the east on CR 210. LOL! I'm so close, yet, so far.

-113 rsrp would be equivalent to -88 dBm on RSSI. I think that's an average signal, a little bit on the lower quality side. Even so, I think a -113 should pull a little better than 5mbps so I will assume the results are just from a tower that's not fully completed yet.

 

I wish Sprint made it easier to track the sites coordinates.

 

Edit: if the second picture is really -91 dBm rsrp, then your lte speeds should be flying!

Once I get out of class, I'll check the Baymeadows Tower again. Hopefully it is completed!

 

Yeah, hopefully its completed. I don't cycle my phone near competed towers anymore Ive given up on that.(until HTC fix this connectivity problem with the EVO LTE.) I know from this point NV has started and someday it will be complete. Until then I just wait.

Apparently I have the supercharged LTE receiving phone:).. maybe I should drive by and coax the LTE out of hiding tomorrow..... :ph34r:

 

The i95/Baymeadows site? I'm convinced they're blocking it. The panels were installed on Oct 18th but no sign of lte at all. 3g speeds are also really slow.

5Mbps is pretty normal for -113dBm RSRP. I'm pretty sure that app is not reading the -91dBM as the LTE RSRP, but errently reading the 1x RSSI, much like Net Monitor and other apps do.

Ya I kinda figured that app wasn't the best... just playing around with different ones on the play store. ...

 

When I was at the tire kingdom I pressed the info button on open signal and it showed the I was using gsm I thought sprint didnt use gsm

I believe the app is trying to say LTE is a GSM technology.

What about downtown Jax, Arlington, or the beaches?

We know work is being done all over Jacksonville, we don't really know which sites will be completed first (some are delayed, others are ahead, etc.)

 

The best way to know is to check on a common occurrence and see if you get the LTE signal anywhere. There's also a map in the Sponsors forum that tells people which sites have been accepted by Sprint (and in most cases are not being blocked.)

Well.. It does use the a SIM card or equivilant to access LTE doesnt it?

 

A SIM card is not only a GSM thing. Nextel iDEN also uses SIM cards, and it is not a GSM technology.

The sale site on I 295 and Collins road is now active I drove by the site yesterday it was not active. And today I drove by and is active here's a screenshot.

Does anyone know about the Gainesville and or Ocala areas. I havent seen much talk about those areas. I work in Gainesville, but live in Ocala. Cant wait for 4G at home.

 

Not sure if this will help you or not. There was an Ocala contractor who completed a site here in Largo I believe. I thought it was strange for them to have a crew all the way down here to do one site. I can't remember his name offhand but I'm sure he will be heavily involved with the deployment in that area. Try the Ocala permitting site to see if you find anything

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
