I think we're likely to see Dish circle back and attempt to buy it at a lower price than the $3.6 billion that T-Mobile was required to auction it for now that that period is over. Verizon also probably has a big interest in getting that spectrum since they're the most lowband starved of the Big 3 at this point but it's an uphill battle for them since the FCC really doesn't want them or AT&T to get their hands on it if they can help it. -
That might be the point. Get permission to sell it to AT&T and/or Verizon. Then buy 600MHz or 700Mhz that would work with their existing radios.

I've been noticing a handful of new LTE sites that don't follow TMOs usual numbering scheme which all seem to be B66 only and use TAC 11501 (e.g., eNB 139308, 139310, 241837). I am still trying to figure out if these are the latest conversions or if they are small cells or what. -
Nobody bought it, but they also weren't allowed to sell it to AT&T or Verizon. If they are, one of them would buy it. I'm not saying they definitely won't keep it, I just see a lot of upside in selling it is all. - Trip

I mean, they held the internal auction and nobody bid an amount that T-Mobile wanted to take, let alone the $3.6 billion that would force them to sell it. It might be hard to find a buyer they'd be happy with, and there is also a competitive benefit keeping it out of VZW/ATT hands.
