Sprint 4G Rollout Updates
Monday, October 22, 2012 - 2:50 PM MDT

Four more Sprint markets that were slated to begin Network Vision/LTE deployments in 2013 are beginning early. Good news for Sprint customers in the Providence, Upstate NY Central, Southern Jersey and Delaware markets.

S4GRU has been able to confirm that Network Vision is now under way in these four markets, all of them being deployed by Alcatel Lucent. This past week, AlcaLu has completed 3G upgrades in a small handful of sites in each of these markets, with 4G yet to come. First LTE signals should start appearing sporadically in these markets in the next 30-60 days.

We currently do not have detailed schedules for these markets, so we will not be able to offer projected launch dates or completion dates at this time. However, near some of the first to be converted sites, Sprint customers can look forward to seeing improved 3G speeds and maybe even some testing/prelaunch LTE signals a few months earlier than originally planned.

You can join us here at S4GRU and track these depoyments. We have a thread we titled the Network Vision Deployment Running List where you can see a summary of all the Sprint markets currently under deployment. Additionally, we offer even more info where we track the completed sites to date on Interactive Maps in our Sponsor section. Information about sponsorship can be found here: S4GRU Sponsorship

With the exception of the barrier islands, Cape May County, NJ didn't get hit by Sandy all that bad. Any update on how NV is moving along in this area?

I am in North Wildwood, I am a phone geek, and have spoken to all the players here, Radioshack, the third party Sprint store in Cape May Ct. House, the sprint store in Mayslanding, and Sprint executive office.

In North Wildwood, and Wildwood, they installed T! lines to the towers to increase call capacity. They will not tell me when we are going to get LTE. They do admit that service in parts of Cape May city stinks, but have nothing in the pipeline to fix it at the moment. The executive office tells me they do look at sensorly, and that they see the same gaps as I do. They say that Cape May is redoing its water tower and Sprint wants to get on it when it is done. I switch between a Blackberry, and a Galaxy Note 2. The service on the Note 2 has been very good, but Im not sure yet if I it is just the fact that service here is always better in the winter because we are a summer resort, or if it is because of Network Vision

I am having a tough time deciding if I should switch from Verizon. The service is a real concern. I live in north cape may and work in rio grande/wildwood. I cannot afford to drop calls or miss calls.

Verizon's service is fantastic but im going to lose unlimited data and they are significantly more expensive

Thats great for my parents as I convinced them to move to Sprint. I just feel like everyone (wireless companies) forget about Frederick, MD (2nd Largest city in Maryland) :(

Sprint loves RI we got Wimax fast and now Network Vision and LTE, I can't wait until Sprint has awesome coverage and I can throw that into the faces of Verizon users.

yea i used to get wimax 4g perfect in my house..when i had the OG evo and the evo 3d.. now that i have the evo LTE i only have 3g.. so i cant f ing wait for LTE to be done in RI!! cause my sprint 3g is a joke sometmes.. i hope the 3g gets a lil better also cause i know i wont be keeping LTE on al the time.. 4g does kill the battery fast..

3G improvements are being done with Network Vision/LTE upgrades in Rhode Island. But once you have LTE, the 3G network won't matter much to you anymore. ;)

That could very well be related to upgrades going on.

I have not seen any comments this year. Anyone from Southern NJ heard or experienced any 4G LTE.

Waiting for something to happen, my 3G is getting better, so my thoughts are some people must be picking up the 4G to allow space on the 3G network.

what's really going on? well, uh.. i dont know, this is talking about 4g lte in delaware and the posts are from 2012.. its almost feburary 2014 and there is absolutely no 4g lte.. i've had 4g phones for years and only get 4g when im up towards wilmington/PA.. i live around seaford DE and wow we hardly have service in this area.. if in town or main roads yes 2-3 bars maybe, but alot of areas there is absolutely no service lol, it doesnt even show a network, no calls, nothing.. i would love, and have been anticipating lte launch.. but i would also love service encompassing the entire area.. i know you guys arent affiliated with sprint, but talking to them is like a brick wall, at&t has had lte for a while and it was super fast, but i have always used sprint and cannot wait for my phone to have 4g. If anyone has any real updates on lte in delaware (preferably sussex county) let me know! thanks.
