  1. HTC U11

Figured the HTC U11 needs to have it's own thread as opposed to having that conversation in the HTC U Ultra thread. Pretty interesting article that has me excited about this phone. As the U11 seems to be leading Sprint's march towards Gigabit LTE. http://www.pcmag.com/news/353698/htc-u11-is-sprints-first-gigabit-phone
  2. The rumor mill has fully geared up, so it seems time for a thread in which the potential HTC-made 2016 Nexus phones can be discussed. Rumors suggest two phones: a 5" device codenamed Sailfish, and a larger device codenamed Marlin. Both are thought to be produced by HTC. [There's also a report that Google is making its own phone, without an OEM partner--along the lines of a Pixel phone--but that report has been largely discounted.] Android Police has claimed it knows with 8/10 certainty some specs of the smaller device--Sailfish: Manufactured by HTC 5" 1080p display (~440PPI) Quad-core 2.0GHz 64-bit processor (model unknown) 4GB RAM 2770mAh battery 32GB storage (unknown if multiple models will be available, or even if this is the base storage level) 12MP rear camera, 8MP front Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner USB-C port (bottom) Bottom-firing speaker or speakers (unknown if dual) Top-mounted headphone jack Bluetooth 4.2 Any thoughts on these devices? The last several Nexus devices have been Sprint compatible; is there any reason to think these won't be? Any hints in regulatory filings? How is HTC's radio performance, generally? Will Sprint sell them directly, and even if they do, will it still be preferable to buy directly from Google?
  3. HTC ONE (M8) Windows for sprint?

I see both Verizon and AT&T are getting this. Has anyone heard rumblings for a Sprinter variant? I was hoping since they at least have a CDMA version that Sprint would be able to get their bands on it also.
  4. HTC One E8

So got on YouTube this morning and this came up!HTC One E8: http://youtu.be/6nL5QoFIEGA
  5. HTC One M8 (Prime)

So the official complete render as per ev leaks has been leaked http://androidandme.com/2014/05/news/htc-m8-prime-m8-ace-image-leaks-show-backsides-of-unannounced-phones/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=htc-m8-prime-m8-ace-image-leaks-show-backsides-of-unannounced-phones Looks not like what I anticipated I really hope that is an early design and color scheme. Copy and pasted from androidcentral.com These leaks come courtesy of none other than @evleaks, and considering that the came out in a spat with Jeff Gordon (HTC's Senior Global Online Communications Manager, not the race car driver), they should be taken with a bit of a skeptical eye. It's also worth considering that, like the Galaxy S5 Prime, we don't expect that any One M8 Prime device would be a replacement for the One M8. Think of it more as a next generation HTC One Max. So on to the leaks: Quad-core 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor 3GB RAM 5.5" 1440x2560 QHD display Cat. 6 LTE Waterproof design Those specs, while open to change, would be in line with what we might expect from a phone like this, and they line up with an earlier leak out of China. There's one more leak, and this one we're strapping on our skeptic helmets: it's made out of "a composite of aluminum and liquid silicone."http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-one-m8-prime-rumored-exotic-material-composition-faster-lte
  6. HTC Gluuv

Pretty sure this is an April Fool's joke, but if not, it's amazingly ridiculous. Good for a few chuckles. http://www.htc.com/www/go/gluuv/
  7. HTC M8/New Flagship

There has been a photo of the supposed device. It is similar to an HTC One except it seems to be more rounded and is in blue. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Pictures-of-the-HTC-M8s-back-cover-leak-includes-hole-for-fingerprint-scanner_id49130
  8. HTC Bargain Seen Luring Bids From Lenovo, ZTE: Real M&A http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-21/htc-bargain-seen-luring-bids-from-lenovo-to-zte-real-m-a.html
  9. Interesting Choice! "In somewhat of an unexpected move, rumor has it that that Robert Downey Jr. has signed a $12 million two-year contract which positions the actor at spokesman and global smartphone ambassador for HTC." http://htcsource.com/2013/06/robert-downey-jr-joins-htc-as-global-smartphone-ambassador/
  10. "Keep in mind that this list is unofficial and Google has yet to formally unveil an Android 4.3 build. With that said, this list seems fairly accurate at first blush; newer, more popular models getting the latest release while others stay back." http://www.androidguys.com/2013/05/30/list-of-htc-devices-slated-to-receive-android-4-3-arrives-before-version-is-even-announced/
  11. Just wondering if other people have noticed increased battery life after alot of the NV upgrades as I have here in NYC. I typically would get between 7-8hrs on a GS3 on full charge. Now, using my girlfriends GS3, I get nearly 10hrs. That is a solid 20-30% increase in battery life. I did expect a slight bump in battery life..but not as much as I have ended up getting.. As a side note, I purchased an HTC ONE on release date and get about 12hrs on one charge with heavy use.
  12. HTC ONE US release not delayed?

Anyone see this article claiming that the ultrapixel shortage will not affect US release dates? Awesome news if true! http://www.gforgames.com/gadgets/htc-one-att-sprint-t-mobile-release-date-32345/
  13. HTC is offering $100 or value of the phone to upgrade to the HTC One. http://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-one/signup

  15. HTC Support Web Site

When does HTC update their support website with the new software information? http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-evo-4g-lte-sprint/software-updates
  16. http://bgr.com/2012/12/21/android-updates-manufacturers-carriers-262823/#more-262823 HTC fared the best when it came to updating its devices, with an average time of 4.8 months, although Samsung’s updating schedule dramatically improved with its Galaxy S III smartphone, which was updated in an average of four and a half months. On the carrier side of things, T-Mobile was found to be the most reliable with an average time of 5.8 months for updating devices. Sprint is the second best with an average of 6.5 months and unsurprisingly AT&T and Verizon are found at the bottom of the pack with average times of 7.8 months and 8 months, respectively.
  17. Looks like the Evo LTE will get Jelly Bean, but still know on knows when it will happen. http://www.pocketabl...evo-4g-lte.html
  18. I was on craigslist today and someone wants to trade a 16GB S3 for an EVO LTE plus $50. They want the box and original docs, which I don't have. They don't like the Samsung interface is why they want to trade. Would you make the trade?
  19. HTC Please Read & Listen!

To all, I sent this to HTC so that they could try and see what they are doing wrong. I had originally just gone to their site to write about the EVO LTE, LTE issues but this is what poured out of me when I started writing! LOL If you don't like rants of suggestions move on, but if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament... Crap... V for vendetta (Best Movie Ever) taking over again! LOL! I suggest everyone on this forum, who has an HTC phone (or not), go to the HTC website and blog to leave feedback. I'm guessing HTC doesn't read the tech blogs perhaps or maybe they don't know how we (their customers) feel? Maybe they don't know about the plaguing LTE issues on the EVO LTE (WINK WINK)? And most of all, enjoy...
  20. EVO still a good phone?

Since all the issues the EVO has been having, is it still a recommended phone?
  21. Has anyone noticed any changes with the hardware from the launch date to today? I know the original EVO had a screen change within 3-4 months of its release. My EVO LTE says its hardware version is 0003. Anyone found anything different on the street?
  22. Bent my EVO LTE

I keep my EVO in my back pocket when I'm out. Last night my friend noticed it now has a slight curve in the phone starting just above the kick stand. Guess I'd better get a case for it or not keep it in my back pocket.
  23. Hi I've found the forum very useful, especially because I'm a newbie when it comes to cellular. I don't have my own cell phone. I have a company provided Blackberry 9330 on Sprint. I get very good signal at my work, at home, and at other places I frequent. As I read the forums, I'm learning that there is some variation between frequencies and other cell technologies. This concerns me because I'm looking at getting the new iPhone when it comes out, and I was considering Sprint since my Sprint Blackberry has worked great for me. Should I anticipate that the Sprint iPhone would also have good signal for me or do I really need to test this some other way before I take the plunge and buy? Any help would be appreciated!

  25. Hello 4G from the "D" (Detroit)

I'm an IT guy for the last 30 years and a sprint customer for the last 12 years. I'm a 4G early adopter in Detroit. I got the original HTC EVO 4G in June 2010 during the launch weekend. I've never able to benefit from 4G because it was never deployed in the Detroit area. I got my HTC EVO 4G LTE in June 2012 during the launch weekend. (do you see a pattern here?). I'm really looking forward to using 4G this time and I'm anxiously awaiting for our deployments to begin. I plan to use this site to track deployment status with a specific focus on those cities who used the same subcontractors that Detroit will be using. I'm looking forward to interacting with other members especially those with the HTC EVO 4G LTE. Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to thank S4GRU for providing information, insight and a community for "us" the real people that use Sprint 4G services. - Mitch
