  1. Would love to stick with HTC. I don't love the Samsung interface. But just based on the camera & display reviews I think I'm going to either do the S7 or maybe the Nexus 6P.
  2. I am looking to upgrade from my HTC One M7. It has mediocre RF performance at my office. I'd kind of like to stick with Sprint. Does anyone have any sense of whether I'm likely to have better luck with the S7?

So, two years in on this phone, just a few thoughts: Lollipop is great. I love the new notifications handling and the unlocking. I am still happy with the stereo speakers and I have no complaints about the display. Well, just my original complaint about the polarization not being diagonal. Or whatever. It's always been a little laggy for me and it still is. It gets worse as the storage fills up and better when I make some space. I still love the design. It hasn't gotten old for me. The real reason I'm posting is the reception. My city is fully implemented with LTE (maybe they all are, I don't know), but I am rarely connected to LTE. 3G has gotten a lot better but there are significant coverage gaps in places there shouldn't be. Does my experience agree with the general consensus on this phone or is it likely Sprint just middling in my area? I was always able to live with the camera, and thought the enhanced low light functioning was a reasonable tradeoff. But recently the photos almost always have a weird pink cast/visible matrix to them. I attribute this to dropping the phone in some water some time ago but the timing doesn't necessarily match up. With some interesting new phones coming out I'm trying to figure out whether to try for a TEP replacement on this one or buy an M9 or S6 or something else, and whether to switch carriers.

So, my HTC One has gotten really laggy recently. Until very recently I would only experience lag when in Power Saver mode. I installed Watchdog Lite and it is indicating various applications are using a high CPU % - things that historically haven't noticeably been burdensome. I wonder if maybe my CPU isn't "firing on all cylinders." Anybody experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions?
  5. I think the invites are coming immediately upon request now. At least mine did and my girlfriend's did.

I'm pretty happy with Sense 5, and, like themuffinman, see little advantage to having a Nexus experience beyond the timely updates. Of course timely updates are nice. I'm thrilled to be on Jellybean rather than the ICS I was stuck on with the Evo 3D.

Interesting. I appreciate the feedback. Probably not worth trying to exchange it for or anything; I don't use it too much in landscape, let alone with sunglasses on in landscape.

Interesting. Even in landscape orientation? I understand with all LCDs, the screen will "go black" (or virtually do so) when held at a certain angle and viewed through polarized lenses. For my Dell laptop, for example, it's on the upward sloping diagonal (lower left to upper right) and on my Dell monitor, it's on the downward sloping diagonal. However, on my One, it's a few degrees counterclockwise of the landscape orientation.

Minor complaint, the display is set up so that when viewing it through a polarized lens (sunglasses) in landscape mode, it almost disappears.

Does anyone have an issue where the voice search/transcription sometimes lags and doesn't start listening?

I turn my wifi off at the office for a similar reason. I haven't had this issue, though. I generally toggle it from the "Power control" widget which I believe is a native Android widget.
  12. Mine used to work like a charm. I only used it for voice, and yes, you have a hard hand-off when you arrive at or leave the house. However, for the past several months, despite some of my best efforts, and the efforts of a support staff who clearly didn't know how anything about the thing beyond reading the script, it is not working. And they are threatening to charge me for it. Kind of wish I'd never gotten it.

Nope, waiting a second or quite a few seconds does not resolve it. Touching the screen (someplace other than the shutter button) does reorient it, though. Still, that's not great. I do edit and rotate my photos--not a big deal--but I have yet to find a way to rotate a whole Zoe. Which kind of ruins the whole highlight reel.

Has anyone had an issue with the camera where it doesn't orient correctly? My phone is generally pretty snappy with reorienting between portrait and landscape as appropriate, but it seems like sometimes the camera gets stuck on the wrong one.
