  1. iPhone 8, 8+, X announced

Thanks for all the help. Does my HTC U11 sim work in the X or do I need to stop by a corporate store to get one? I think I am going to bite the bullet for now. I'm giving into loads of why are you 'green' comments.
  2. iPhone 8, 8+, X announced

So I guess the question now is... how long do we expect it will take for another model to be announced? Aren't the 's' usually less than a year from initial release?
  3. iPhone 8, 8+, X announced

Hi all! I'm torn. Should I upgrade to an X or wait for the next model? I need a break from Android, but my inner-nerd is worried at how inferior the radios are to my HTC U11.
  4. I am excited to see them expand. I hope they can convince Sprint corporate to invest more in Western Loudoun County which still has gaping holes from Purceville to the west.
  5. HTC U11

    Just upgraded. No calling plus.
  6. HTC U11

I feel like we are the forgotten device again. I wish Sprint had a software release tracker like T-Mobile.
  7. His departure from Altice was also tied to the heavy debt they took on during his acquisition spree, but another thing he accomplished was 'stabilizing' ALU before selling it to Nokia. That is a bit more worrisome for me.
  8. Shares halted. News pending. Edit: A little underwhelming, but we have a new President and CFO. http://ih.advfn.com/p.php?pid=nmona&article=76409307&adw=1126416
  9. Speeds have definitely increased in the Logan Circle (DC) area even on legacy Clearwire equipment, but I think that is mostly due the config change. The business district (K St) continues to struggle, but I did notice either a new tower in Metro Center is online or Macy's installed a Sprint DAS because I had consistent B25 service throughout the store. Previously, I'd drop to 1x or no service. Like you I hope we get a clearer picture on the next earnings call. I also keep watching this page to see if Sprint signs an agreement with DC Gov for small cells: https://octo.dc.gov/page/small-cells
  10. I'd hope by 2020 our phones will be primarily using VoLTE for voice supported by USCC/AT&T LTE roaming. I rarely use VZW 1x anymore unless I'm in very certain spots.
  11. Calling Plus (VoLTE "Lite")

It's a mix, but I think their biggest concern is taking a hit on their voice reliability scores. That said, I agree they should just open up VoLTE as a 'beta' program which is what they are sort of doing now with Calling Plus. I believe the full VoLTE IMS is already stood up and functioning with some iPhones and Calling Plus. Either way, we are getting closer!
  12. Network Vision/LTE - Tampa Market

Mobilitie has filed their 48 hour work notice for the six sites they seek to install on public RoW. Sadly, the work won't be complete until the end of March. Hoping the schedule holds!
  13. Calling Plus (VoLTE "Lite")

And us HTC U11 users wallow in the old days.
  14. Not sure if it is sarcasm or not, but when you work at corporate HQ high level executives usually hold town hall meetings where employee groups can get an update and ask questions directly to them.
  15. Yeah, here is too hoping they get something signed with Charter and Kabletown (Comcast for non-30 Rock-ers). Any preferred access to their physical plants should help speed up deployment of B41 services at better cost.
  16. HTC U11

    No Calling Plus yet? Alas.
  17. I believe it does and unfortunately I think the big drag is not just the suburbs but capacity issues in the District itself. Sprint did add some mini-macros in the city core which made B41 somewhat usable again, but it continues to drag 50-60% below the number they provide there. District Government did announce that they received 11 bids to take over the city street lights for small cells - I am hoping that Mobilitie is one of those bids.
  18. [Discontinued] Sprint Tmobile merger Disc.

Sprint hasn't had a consistent negative operating margin for a while unless we are confusing things.
  19. HTC U11

I was hoping, at that size, it was going to allow us to enable calling plus. Maybe next update!
  20. Official Airave 3 LTE / S1000 NSC Thread

Does the LTE light stay red and then blink again? I have been having this issue with my dad's Airave 3 for a few weeks now. They swapped it out once and the new unit is doing the same thing. I really think this is more of a backend issue than the devices.
  21. Are they actually moving dirt? I know they have issued press releases after the close of the merger, but haven't seen actual upgrades taking place. Maybe I need to start stalking the Optimum DSLReports forums.
  22. Network Vision/LTE - Tampa Market

I may be at risk of looking crazy as the only participant in this thread, but I thought it would be good to keep a record of changes in case we get more Tampa-based participants. One of the expired permits (BLD-17-0449236) was reissued and work completed in the last couple of weeks. Final inspection is due tomorrow. So far no activity on the other permit, but based on the quick turnaround it looks like they aren't letting permits expire for no reason anymore.
  23. I wish we could get more color on the CapEx spending, but as we all have noticed there has been a surge in permitted and COMPLETED MM B41 work in many markets. So hopefully we are starting to see a continuing investment trend.
  24. It is a great move for the urban NYC market. Sprint has a strong network in the inner boroughs and might as well capitalize on that to shore up subscriber numbers. For those tri-staters outside the city, hopefully it will translate into suburban improvements.
  25. Network Vision/LTE - Tampa Market

Sadly, Sprint let two of the City of Tampa permits expire, but did complete work on the other two. I just don't get why you file for permits and then don't follow through. Mobilitie is continuing to work its way through the process and filed revised plans right before the 4th of July holiday. Hopefully, they will get the green light soon.
