  1. Network Vision/LTE - Chicago Market

There appears to be some sort of outage in the NW burbs. I noticed it driving through Barrington and Palatine, and it continues into Schaumburg as I was heading down IL 53. Anyone else noticing issues? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Network Vision/LTE - Chicago Market

I agree with your statement on upload speeds holding them back. Sprint is in a difficult position there until upload CA is implemented and/or they change their TDD ratios for B41 (unsure of the technical term). The other carriers have the advantage, with respect to UL, of having the same amount of spectrum deployed for upload as they do for download since they use bigger channels of FDD for LTE. Sprint's 10x10 PCS deployment will help with this, but generally they will eventually need to bust out higher UL speeds on B41 to get on par with the other carriers in that respect. 3. Cases affecting signal

My sister had one that cut signal strength by at least half for 3G, LTE, and WiFi. I took it from her and used it to find 800 Mhz & force roam when needed [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Shentel / Sprint LTE - (was ntelos - West & N&W Virginia)

I'm curious how wide of an LTE channel this is and if they have more than 1 carriers deployed out in nTelos land. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. B26 actually does seem to be optimized here in NW Chicagoland. My nearest tower is a mile and a half away and I still get at least 2 bars in my house. When they first turned it on it was pretty similar to B25 penetration, so I would bounce to 3G a lot. I'll drop to 3G in my basement now but it's not a huge deal since I have pretty good wifi. 6. Network Vision/LTE - Orlando Market

If I find myself down in Orlando in the next few months I'll be sure to test my GS3 to confirm, if someone else doesn't beat me to it of course. Also to add, Sprint has made excellent progress in Orlando since I moved up north in June 2014. In the 2H2015 Root Metrics report released on 10/15, Sprint finally beat T-Mobile and tied AT&T for 2nd place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Network Vision/LTE - Orlando Market

If Orlando is truly going exclusive on 10x10 B25, I'm curious if older single-band Samsung devices will be able to connect to the LTE network. I recall hearing about some sort of limitation on those devices which prevents them from connecting to anything larger than 5x5 on B25. I still have my Galaxy S3 which I believe was one of those included devices however I do not live in the area any more to investigate.
  8. Network Vision/LTE - Orlando Market

I hope it happens soon. I'm still stuck on a stupid Verizon variant iPhone 6 (activated on Sprint, long story) without B41 support... It's been a little annoying not being able to take advantage of the extra spectrum. So in Orlando, does that mean that they only have a single 10x10 B25 carrier deployed since it's C5 +G? Or is there still a 5x5 B25 carrier deployed somewhere else in the PCS band?
  9. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User Thread

So I went back today and the guy at the Apple Store says they don't differentiate phones by model number, just CDMA vs GSM. Soooo by that logic they seem to think it's normal to activate Verizon model phones on the Sprint network! He said I was the first person to ever come in with an issue like this and basically told me to go to Sprint or call Apple Care. I'm a bit disappointed in the service I was provided today, I may have to tweet at Marcelo and tell him the situation. I can't imagine he would be happy with a bunch of iPhone 6's (and possibly iPhone 6s's) on his network that can't even take advantage of B41, if that is truly how Apple does things. 10. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User Thread

They actually sent me to another store because the model wasn't available at the store I originally went to. I was pretty much on a wild goose chase for over a week to get this replacement. I'm glad I did though, because I had just gone out of warranty. It took them a good 25 minutes to activate it; They even had to call Sprint to get it working. Not quite looking forward to dealing with them again to get the correct model but it will do me good next time I go to a venue or event with a lot of people since B41 is almost everywhere in Chicagoland.
  11. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User Thread

So I got my iPhone 6 replaced at the Apple Store last weekend as I was having some issues with signal reception and GPS locking. I've noticed that I have yet to connect to B41 on my replacement. I realized today that they gave me the Verizon model A1549 instead of the Sprint model A1586... Everything works fine except I do not have the ability to connect to B41. Has anyone had this problem before? Do you think Apple will be able to swap my current phone for the Sprint variant? I also think that since it's a Verizon model that it may be unlocked, so I could probably sell it and get a 6s. (Better resale value) Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Fantastic. Sure as hell beats paying $20 /mo for a paltry 2GB of tethering data as I was previously on ED1500. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Cases and signal strength

My sister had a case that would decrease reception by what I would guess a good 15 dBm. It also cut the wifi signal strength/range in half. It was some kind of plastic with what looked to be pyrite glitter on the back. Or maybe it was just made of lead, because that thing was the worst signal clock block I've ever come across. 14. Interesting this is being discussed at this current moment because I was wondering the same thing myself. I just changed over our plan from ED 1500 to the 40GB Family Share Pack ($20 /mo cheaper!) . I had put tethering on my phone for $20 /mo on my old plan but they made me take it off when I switched. Does tethering just take the data out of my bucket as if I was using it on my device? Or is it a lower allotment? I wasn't able to find anything on this specifically when I was looking online. (Or I just wasn't looking hard enough lol) Tethering is a really nice option for me to have especially when my internet goes out and I'm working remotely, or decide to go down to the park and work from there. I really hope I still have a decent tethering allotment with this new plan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Network Vision/LTE - Chicago Market

Outage? I can't send SMS, make calls, or receive calls, and neither can the rest of my fam. Blehh... I'm so done with today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Network Vision/LTE - Orlando Market

From how I understand it, Orlando isn't a very PCS spectrum rich market. I don't recall you guys even having a second 5x5 B25 carrier deployed, so I wouldn't expect a 10x10 B25 carrier would be expected anytime soon. Come to Illinois. We gots plenty of PCS spectrum to go around (thx USCC) [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Dual Band MIMO deployment

Interesting how they threw up second PCS antennas before B41 8t8r antennas. How common are these setups? Perhaps a trend may be forming? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User Thread

So the last two weeks I've noticed a performance decrease in 3 areas: cell reception (1x, 3G, & LTE), WiFi reception, and Bluetooth connectivity range (goes about 1/3 of what it used to). I'm finding my phone on Extended a lot more than I used to and do not get a usable wifi signal on my front patio like I used to. Bluetooth cuts out around 5 ft or when I go behind an object (like a wall or even my body). Anyone notice a similar trend? I'm on the 9.1 beta (but was also occurring on 9.0) and carrier bundle 21.5 with wifi calling activated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Network Vision/LTE - Chicago Market

Anyone experiencing issues with sending/receiving SMS? No luck on LTE or 3G. Data and calls work fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Shentel / Sprint LTE - (was ntelos - West & N&W Virginia)

I hope this does not happen. Shentel has proven to be an outstanding affiliate/supplier, and does an arguably better job at network management then what is done in-house (and thru Ericsson) at Sprint. If anything I would like them to take over the management of the Western PA market and to get all those GMOs updated to full builds and get some market share. In the case of Shentel they would likely invest more than Sprint has (and will) in that area due to the regional nature and interest of their business. Shentel has been a great example of functional specialization: "A method of production where a business or area focuses on the production of a limited scope of products or services in order to gain greater degrees of productive efficiency within the entire system of business or areas" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. My favorite deal was the $1 per month iPhone loyalty lease thru Best Buy. Sure, I'm still on a contract plan (ED1500 with unlimited bonus minutes!) but I'm only paying 24 bucks in total over 2 years for the phone. AND they never charged me an activation fee! [emoji41] Everything else just seems like highway robbery to me now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
