Yeah - it's on federal land so I am sure they did not have to go through the slow red-tape process of applying for a state permit.

I was in LA recently. See attached. Hopefully we'll see speeds like this. But I noticed the LTE coverage was spotty. And I am assuming that the towers weren't under a heavy load, hence the speeds I got.

Man. I really hope the build out starts soon. I am barely getting 100kbps at times with an average ping of 350 ms.

I was looking at a site where AT&T also has equipment. It took the state of Hawaii seven months to issue a permit. I don't expect work on towers to begin until early next year.. based on what we see now.

Funny, cause I went to Starbucks near the airport and smiled a little when I saw an Alcatel-lucent van in the parking lot. I hope they have started.
