  1. So even though for primary service I jumped a while ago I had to take a road trip to Ithaca for work a few days ago and thought I'd pull out my ring plus line and map some of the way. I'll say this: even though the lack of LTE right outside the island of Syracuse coverage has not changed since launch, at least backhaul and capacity for 3g seems to be at least a t1 level. Now, for miles on 17 and whatever the road is near Verna to ithaca there wasn't even 1x data in places it at least used to exist. More and more our market is smacked by it's ground mount everything issues. Funny though. I keep on checking back for positive change. I want things to get better. I'm just terribly shocked at their glacial pace. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  2. Actually we have dual carrier band 41 according to scp. Not certain if its aggregated as my Sprint device is a lowly OG nexus 5. At my house when I swap between band 41 carriers (inside, mind you right around -100 to -105) I get somewhere around 20/5 or so. Just come on band 26! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  3. As an ex iwo affiliate employee, yes. A sparse tower layout. Nextel decommissioned towers didn't really help (from my arbitrary observation) as I don't believe band 26 has launched. Luckily central New York was an ofdm clearwire/wimax market so tower spacing was kept in mind. Honestly, speaking for the Syracuse area proper, Sprint has not added new builds. Capacity? Definitely. Also, remember that Sprint was one of the first companies to push data in the fledgling days of smart phones (if I remember correctly htc had one of the first windows mobile devices as well as that flip kyocera palm is) EVDO and led speeds for years in the "early days". In the early 2000's they were leading the pack. Native Sprint markets (for comparison Buffalo) are way more dense. Look at Louisiana or (shudder) swiftel. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  4. It'd help with the sparse tower layout inherited from iwo from their affiliate days and bring me back to the mother ship... And for the fact 1x has been lit up for over a year it'd bring people back to the top 100 market for certain! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  5. So I've been away from Sprint for a while but just activated my old nexus 5 on ringplus to see how coverage is looking in Syracuse as of late. A couple points. 2nd band 41 carrier is near Manley field house in the city as well as near Onondaga lake park in Liverpool as well as quite a few other areas. I'm glad to see it! Some in city 3g areas still exist which I find rather odd as Syracuse doesn't run into CL backhaul issues and uses aav for backhaul for parts of the city. But overall quite an improvement from my last checkin. The two bigger questions is not once have I seen band 26 or 1x 800 even though the area is our of the ibez and had 1x acceptance for quite sometime. I wonder if they haven't tuned the area still. I'll be holding onto the rp line for now ($5 1500 minutes, texts and 1.5 gigs of data!) And will be cell mapping the city and surrounding areas. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  6. Found some b26 in Worcester on Amtrak this afternoon. Was out on the cape all weekend, lots of b25, lots of 1x800 (hell, that was where I idled right as soon as I hit the mass pike from NY), good to see network improvements in place!
  7. I was over that way this afternoon - sadly it must be in testing phase as I was still on 1900 evdo-a. Once the rain stops this way I'm gonna start to photograph the 8t8r's that have been up (but not in use) for quite a while now... I'm wondering if we were a converted Clear market to LTE before New Sprint came into existence and we're just a bit out from some band 41 goodness...
  8. That's great to hear, the Fairmont area has been wanting for lte signal for quite a while now.
  9. I've seen quite a few as well, however not a peep of anything save b25. Being that Syracuse is a current wimax market perhaps its time. I just have no idea where there clear towers are, I'll have to check out antennasearch for their locations and scout a bit.
  10. Actually I haven't seen a peep put of smr either in Syracuse. I'll normally tower switch between about five different towers at home all with a varying 1x -100 to -104 signal on calls. Its possible though that they may be accepted but still broadcasting the test sid? Or the switch isn't parking us on them yet. I'll give it a couple of weeks.
  11. Auburn is pretty well covered to. Every time I lose the goodness of LTE off the 690 split I grow a bit sad. But its great to see back haul finally arrive for that part of the suburbs. Once band 26 arrives and is tuned I think our lil corner of a bad ex-affiliate market will be in good shape.
  12. Why'd everything get all film noir up in here? I'm seeing black and white. And terrible battery life as my phone does the hopscotch game. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Has anyone seen 1x800 the past few weeks in Syracuse again? I've been parking on the green lakes tower in Fayetteville on 1900 as of late when there's about three towers between here and there (about two blocks away from Teal Ave & Burnet Ave). Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
