  1. Thanks. Maybe a mod will move this thread, if it needs moving.
  2. Official Sprint map is now showing some Spark coverage in the Louisville KY area. The current map shows spotty coverage, hopefully it will fill in soon. http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?ECID=vanity:coverage#!/ And only a few days ago, Louisville was selected as a candidate Google Fiber expansion city. Derbytown is on a roll! :-)
  3. Sensorly doesn't help me as it does not differentiate between single band LTE and Triband LTE. Ah, I didn't know that Premier and regular Sponsor were that different. Thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that the Sponsor info was the same, the difference with Premier being permanent, and it comes with extra web site posting upgrades. $100 for a web site is too rich for me. Not pleading poverty. But I'm just a few years from retirement and prioritizing my spending. I'll just have to be patient. Either Louisville gets Spark, or it doesn't. One last question. On the S4, when connected to Spark, does the spinning white LTE wheel / star burst icon change color? Maybe yellow like on the Sprint website? Or does it always stay white?
  4. I bought a S4 Triband seven weeks ago. Rooted, with Jelly Bean stock (other than the root), MK5 firmware. Very happy with the device, the increased screen resolution over my Galaxy S2 is great. I have SignalCheck Pro installed. So far I've seen no Spark activity in Louisville KY, but I live not far from my job and I get out and about less then average when I'm not working. Unfortunately for me regular LTE is almost a dead zone at my work, and they cut off the wi-fi two years ago (too many people abusing it, phones out on the production floor instead of break time only). I am wondering if the sponsor section has noted any Spark activity in Louisville, or if the sponsor section has any expected time line for Spark in Louisville? I am not asking for the specific info for free! I just don't want to pay to be a sponsor, only to then find out the info I seek is not to be found. So what I am asking, has there been any Louisville Spark testing (just yes or no, not asking for specifics as the where in Louisville), and if not, is there any specific time line info for Louisville Spark (just yes or no, not asking to be told when)? If the answer to either question is “yes”, I'd be willing to become a sponsor (regular, not Premier).
  5. Unfortunately for me, I don't really understand your answer. FDD? Floppy Disk Drive? :-) Seriously, I don't even know what FDD is, in this context. Ting doesn't easily issue refunds for phones so I want to be sure before I pay my hard earned $500. Would the Tri-Band phone take incoming calls while I'm connected to 4G or not? I'm asking specifically about Louisville KY, not what may or may not happen if I were to be elsewhere. Obviously, no Spark in Louisville yet, but other than that is there any downside to having a Tri-Band phone in Louisville?
  6. Thank you for the information and the quick reply. I'm real happy with Ting but their @help address has not been good for me lately. Their reply to my first inquiry mistakenly said that only the S4 Mini was Tri-Band. After pointing them to their own product page, that issue was cleared up. My next inquiry was two days ago regarding CSFB / eCSFB in Louisville. I was told by Ting that I would need to keep the S4 Tri-Band on 3G. Meanwhile, the Ting S4 Tri-Band seems to be very popular, they cut the price to $500 last week and it has sold out twice since then. When they get more in, I will grab one. I hope Sprint follows through with spreading Spark.
  7. Galaxy S4 Tri-Band in Louisville KY I'm thinking of upgrading from my Galaxy S2 to a Tri-Band S4. LTE is live in Louisville, but not Spark. What should I expect from a S4 Tri-Band in Louisville? Would I essentially be 3G only (I need to be able to receive voice calls at all times) due to Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) or Enhanced Circuit Switched Fallback (eCSFB) troubles, or is that problem resolved in Louisville?
