  1. I went through expecting for it to kick over once I passed over the James River bridge like normal but no go. I saw it light up "Extended LTE" for 1 second and then went to 1X. I tried switching Airplane Mode on and off a few times but nothing as well. I personally love roaming on USCC but these days I seem to only get VZW roaming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Has anyone been having roaming issues lately? I noticed with the last carrier settings update I no longer am able to roam on US Cellular LTE in Buckingham County where Sprint has no native service. Was working fine a few weeks ago. Now it's 1X only [emoji24] I also noticed my phone seems to prefer Verizon versus US Cellular, problem with VZW is no data roaming at all anymore.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Saw B41 in Lynchburg. Last time I was here a few months ago was only B25 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Seems like this Richmond thread is kinda dead! Been a year since there has been activity. Anyone else in this market having issues? No service at Zion Crossroads or Louisa. Verizon roaming only Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I would love to see this at my house, Lake Monticello has only had B25 deployed so you have huge holes throughout the Lake area as you go between the 3 towers and a typical speed is about 2-3 Mbps. Usable for sure but at one time I got a consistent 25 mbps. I'm all for Shentel and that's why I'm sticking around with Sprint but they are really going to have to pick it up on Charlottesville in B26 deployment and faster speeds. I don't want to see the network turn to a 2011 era nTelos 3G Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Went to Waynesboro this evening and connected to the Band 41 site that I actually connected to The first time we were able to access the nTelos network. Was pulling 50mbps at that point and it's sad to see what you get now. Speeds have been pretty mediocre in the Shentel areas but Waynesboro used to be the nTelos bread and butter. 7. Is there any reason behind no 41? The MB market is huge during the Summer and I feel like it would be a top priority! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Is there Band 41 in Myrtle Beach yet? Was down about two months ago(I live in VA) and stayed at some family property in Surfside and still no Band 41. I have been hoping for major Sprint network improvement at the beach but I always get disappointed with poor speeds. I use T-Mobile as well and where that doesn't work great in VA they seem to have their stuff together in the MB area! I complain about the speeds on Sprint but anything is better than 2011-2012 before "network vision" when 3G wouldn't even send an iMessage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Speeds have been okay for me but I see ping is high again [emoji19] did a speed test and 400ms ping Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'm excited to see what the future holds. I hit 150mbps one time on a Clearwire B41 site in Short Pump last year but the max speed I have ever seen in Charlottesville was 50mbps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Glad to see some good speeds on B41! I have noticed more B41 going on in Charlottesville recently and I was using my Samsung so I was able to see from SCP. I have seen at least three sites in the past month get B26 so that's a good thing. There is a spot around Lake Monticello where I lose service and just recently will catch USCC Band 12 roaming so that's new to this area. Why are our speeds slower than big metros? Low spectrum? Backhaul? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Also, the only way I was actually able to get a ticket submitted was to tweet the CEO. I got a response back within a few minutes and the "customer advocacy group" called the next day and let me know that a ticket was placed and the apologized about support not knowing about the affiliate markets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Got a call from a network tech regarding the ticket I submitted. He stated that they contacted Shentel network techs and that the problem should be resolved. He didn't elaborate on what it was even when I asked so I'm not sure what the deal really was. I did a speed test and things seem back to normal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I didn't change my DNS but I did do a "Reset Network Settings" from support. I normally do not use this option as it messes with my wifi passwords and such but was desperate for a fix. It seems to only be an issue for Sprint users. nTelos phones using the same site have the "normal" speeds and pings so I cant think of anything that would cause issues for us other than provisioning on Sprint's end. You are exactly right about the Richmond Market site that they were talking about. It is the Zion Crossroads site. I went out the other night and ran a quick speed test and got a ping of 59 speeds are always so-so due to the amount of users on that one site. It just shocks me though that support has no clue about their affiliate markets when Shentel is branded under the Sprint name.
  15. I talked to Sprint customer support tonight, Didn't leave me with a good taste in my mouth as I was hung up on during transfers twice and when I do actually get to "Advanced Technical Support" I was told that the nearest Sprint tower from me is 7 1/2 miles and that they cannot see any Sprint towers located in Charlottesville. Trying to explain the affiliate market situation didn't work either. What do you guys do when you have to call support? I tried to explain my situation with the high pings and low speeds and get that they do not service my area when clearly there is a Shentel owned tower less then half a mile from my home. Ugh. Rant over
