Comcast has WiFi sites around Philadelphia (maybe elsewhere), access is included with internet service. The interesting thing is that everywhere I see an Xfinitywifi hotspot I also see Optimum and one other one. It looks like they are sharing already. PJ

I can vouch for this, my parents house in Shamokin is on the hill across from the protection tower, almost line of site, I just have to get his neighbors to cut the roof off their houses. I had a nice strong signal there, 4 out of 5 lights on my clear modem. I was able to get 7+ mbps down with the clear modem in Shamokin, much better my dad's DSL line. Do they normally use that nice of a backhaul with a protection site? Patrick

Shamokin, PA 4371kbps Down 69kbps up I have not been home myself to test it since I found out it was available. My daughter ran speedtest on an Epic 4G Touch for me. She only ran it once and sent me the results, she may have lost her connection during the upload. Patrick
