  1. Much work on that tower in the past few months. Verizon tech was on scene when I took that photo. Nice guy. He was working on second rack from top. Although good to see the new hardware by Sprint, the bad news is that it was not yet providing an LTE 4g signal--my new phone is triband LG G3. Perhaps backhaul is absent or some other factor is reason that only 3g was available around that tower. As for downtown Sacramento around the capitol north side, LTE 4g has been strangely inconsistent over the past couple weeks. Sometimes good LTE 4g signal at about 5-6 mbs (today); other times only 3g in same location a few minutes later. Same pattern as you walk north. Strange, but maybe someone has a theory for that...
  2. thanks lilotimz. he seemed very sincere? in any event he had sensible input re: upcoming sprint phone releases and did not attempt to upsell given that i am currently using wimax with galaxy s2. will continue holding pattern as legacy sero plan is too good to abandon.
  3. fwiw...spoke to sprint rep in downtown sac sprint store last week. good guy. his estimate for downtown sac lte was october-november based upon his contacts.
  4. Understood lilotimz. Reviewing Sprint's tower upgrade map on its website in the Sacramento area, the work markers present a donut pattern with the circle of tower upgrades encompassing the city...natomas, roseville, elk grove, etc., while the hole of inactivity is downtown Sacramento itself. So then, if known, what has been lag time between tower upgrade indicated on Sprint's tower map and actual implementation of lte following said upgrade. If no reasonable estimate is possible, then no problem...just trying to get additional info regarding estimated LTE launch for downtown sac around the capitol.
  5. Pretty sure these are the 8x8 rrus. Located at hwy 104 and I-5. Sprint website shows recent tower work completed for data enhancement. Peace Techgirl
  6. lilotimz, i hear you and do not intend to interfere with the purpose of the website. note that i took pics of that tower on industrial ave and they produced 1.2 mb pics. too big for the limits to post and on tapatalk. agree the value of phots to confirm statements. have seen your posts of reddit...thanks for your work on this ongoing issue.
  7. "Alien infiltration." yes the internet is anonymous and useless posts find a home. however, this forum is intended for posts that serve to contribute meaningful input. premier sponsor should not buy the ability to float snarky comments when they add nothing to the objective of the website. on the good, spoke to sprint tech...reportedly galt is up on lte. went to industrial ave and confirmed that the tower has 8x8 RRUs. unfortunately I have galaxy s2 and on wimax...no lte attena. so I cannot confirm sprint techs statement that sprint lte 4g is live in galt. perhaps someone has ability to check
  8. new guy here. just spoke with sprint tech re lte availability in sacramento. she provided a hard start date of June 13.
