  1. Everything working as it should again on the NW side. Only lasted a few days.
  2. In the NW side of the city I have been experiencing issues also. Normally in my apt I am on B25 with a -80ish signal. For about the last week I my N5 has been cycling between 3G and LTE about once an hour in the same spot. It WAS on B25 when on LTE when the cycling started, now it is going between B26 and 3G. Seems like a network upgrade is taking place that isn't quite there yet.
  3. Are you running Slimkat rom? I was having trouble with their APN settings sticking on "FreedomPop" when I was in a low/ no signal area and it wouldn't revert back to "Sprint LTE Internet" when in a strong signal area without manually switching it. This resulted in not being able to use data even though the status would show that I was connected to LTE with a strong signal.
  4. Magically fixed as of today. Same for you?
  5. No Google voice integration (at least none that I have ever set up). Profile update did nothing also. Didn't think it would since calls form Sprint users are fine, but tried anyway.
  6. Anyone having trouble with incomming calls from at&t? Today whenever I get an incomming call from someone on at&t we can not hear each other. My phone will ring, I answer, and then nothing. I can call the person back and we hear each other fine though. Tried this with two people in different areas (Evanson and Hoffman Estates) about 10 times with the same result each time. Tested with another Sprint user and everything is normal.
  7. Last week I was getting 12-14 Mbps at the Caribou Coffee by Michigan and Madison, but only in the mid 2s on Washington and Franklin. The area was packed with day after Thanksgiving shoppers. This was using a N5 without b41 or b26 enabled. This past Monday and into Tuesday though, I could barely load a webpage in the NW burbs where the speeds were in the 12-14 Mbps range before. Today all is good again. Unfortunately Signalcheck doesn't show the SNR value on the N5 to know if there was a difference.
  8. Learned something new today, Thanks.
  9. I have been noticing that the UL Channel in the LTE engineering screen on my N5 keeps bouncing between 65535 and 26665 sometimes about once every second or two. I had a signal around -88db while this was happening. Would this, not being able to lock into a channel, cause some of the slow data problems in the area? Not really sure if the UL channel bouncing is even an issue, but seemed odd.
  10. I have been noticing something strange with data speeds compared to the G2. Although the N5 is showing a stronger signal in Signalcheck, the throughput is way worse. At a couple of sprint stores in the area (NW burbs of Chicago) the G2 I tested has been getting 3-5Mbs where our 2 N5s and the N5s on display were getting 200kbs on Speedtest going to the same servers. Also worth noting is that the N5s seemed to pause at times during the test which was a behavior that the G2s did not do. Same PRLs (did a PRL update anyway) and also tried updating the profiles. These tests were done from multiple locations over about 50 miles around the area with the same result. Any idea on the cause?
  11. Tried with both Hangouts and Textra and no MMS on Global setting, although there was not a problem with SMS. When I switched to LTE, all the pics went through from previous attempts. Since I'm in a Spark area (NW burbs of Chicago) maybe that has something to do with it. EDIT: This morning everything now works on Global setting also. Weird. Last night MMS only went through on LTE setting to both in network and outside of network phones. Whatever, at least now I know what to change if it ever starts acting up again.
  12. For me, if it is set to Global then MMS won't go through. Setting it to LTE resolves this.
  13. Thought of that, but the Nexus isn't on Sprint's no-contract list. Would I be able to use it as a BYOD on a non contract plan? Also looked into Ting but there seems to be quite a wait until a nexus device can be activated and I didn't see an unlimited data option. I am thinking of getting the N5 from Sprint, being the same hardware and software as the Google Play addition, and if things don't work out I can pay the ETF and move to another carrier. I am thinking with the additional incentives for porting from USCC, the cost of the ETF would be not to far off from buying the phone outright and I will have unlimited data if Sprint works out for me. I am in the NW burbs of and there has been good reception in all the stores I have tested the phones at.
  14. The burbs are faring much better. I have been testing out demo devices in different locations and so far none have been having this bad of an issue with SNR (although still not good). Tested in Vernon Hills and Arlington heights on a G2 that was only band 25. In Arlington Heights RSRP was -99 and SNR was 5.1 (avg on 3 checks) with a download speed of 14Mbps and upload of about 5Mbps. Vernon Hills saw the same RSRP, but had a SNR in the high 19s. Data rate was about the same. Today I stopped in a store in Skokie. The G2 was getting a RSRP of -88 with a SNR of only 2-3, data speeds were in the .5-3 Mbps range and upload was in the 3-4Mbps range. Where it gets interesting is when I tested out the HTC One Max that had the Spark update. It connected to band 41 (311870) with a RSRP of -93 and a SNR of 23. Data speeds stayed consistantly in the mid 30Mbps range and uploads around 9Mbps. Also worth noting is that the Walmart, I mean Spark icon only spins during data transfer.
  15. Nickel : Thanks for the welcome. Cubbiefan82: That is what I am hoping for.
