That's a great question. The First rep said Sprint needed to send a "PLBL" to the phone to unlock it from Sprint's Network. I was flabbergasted. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

My wife has a Google Pixel XL (original) that Is activated on Sprint. When we received our Google Fi SIM cards, I inserted the SIM and tried to activate the phone on Fi. It was unsuccessful. Code # D003 or D0003. The First rep checked and said the Pixel had to be unlocked from Sprint. The following day Sprint sent an unlock signal (not sure how that works) and it was unsuccessful. The Fi SIM was still in the phone. Later that evening I put the Sprint SIM back in and since that time Sprint has sent several unlock signals to the phone, all unsuccessful. Sprint is still trying to send unlock signals. The phone is powered on, with the Sprint SIM installed. She can currently send/receive calls/texts/data. I am trying to figure out why the unlock signals are all failing. Anyone run into this issue or possibly shed some light on what we can do to get it unlocked from Sprint? That's an excellent question. You answered it with your second-to-last sentence. Subjective to each user/buyer. A few of the reasons I chose to pay for the upgrade from a 6p, in no particular order: Display; bigger, brighter Unlimited Google Photos storage 3 years of software updates (and assuming a year or two after that of monthly security patches) Camera improvements (hardware) Radio/connectivity upgrades My wife and I have an upgrade cycle in which we budget for, and works for us. There may be more things I could add to this later, but these are the things that come to mind quickly. Honestly, I asked myself the question you posed over the past few weeks.

David, You certainly are right, my home tower must not have B41. B25 speeds on that tower are perfectly acceptable to me, if memory serves, it's usually between 8-20mbps. It's pretty rare for our wifi to go out. Anytime I'm out in the yard or neighborhood I'm able to stream/etc. without issue. The different tower explains the low B41 signal strength. Out of curiosity, would you expect the tower at 7 Highway & Cowherd to get B41 in the future? Thanks as always for the knowledge.

Rumored price to be $849 per Android Central. Extremely competitive market, with only a single camera, I'd expect 64GB of on-board storage for that price. We shall see 2 weeks from tomorrow. UPDATE: Android Police reports have 64gb at $849, 128gb at $949. I'm good with 64gb and add the cost of Pixel Protect. I learned the hard way with my Nexus 6P.

@DkoellerwxSorry I haven't posted this sooner David. I'm pretty sure this is my home tower; (South 7 Highway & Cowherd Road). It's maybe 400 yards away. If I'm connecting to another tower, I sure don't know where it is.

David, It certainly has B41. What would you like for confirmation?

David, I'm pretty sure. I know to not go by the tiny 2 or 3 in SCP, but I don't think it does. It's the tower at South 7 Highway and Cowherd Road. Please not I'm not complaining about coverage. I'm happy with it.

Shattered the screen on my Google-purchased 6P on launch day. Paid to replace the screen. Started having severe battery issues in the spring and contacted Google. No problem at all, they sent me a refurb 6P, then sent mine in after I got the replacement. Still a great device

Maybe it's possible to get carrier-specific abilities in the Carrier Services app. Last year at this time I would definitely say it isn't possible.

Well, you know how some folks are around here about that kind of thing. I haven't read anything on S4GRU with any live 4CA sites, but I don't get around to all of the threads. My home site is an old clear site, no 2xCA for me on that one.
