Azimuth
I didn't find a topic about this but I'm sure it's something most Apple users have experienced: charging cables that disintegrate at the ends. I refuse having to spend hard-earned dollars on a new cable and I'm not a fan of third-party ones either. The solution? The super awesome Dremel Versatip and 6.9mm heat shrinkable tubing. It's just a pity that I couldn't get white tubing as it is listed as an available colour on the packaging. I wonder when Apple is going to solve this problem? It's a non-issue with the micro USB charging cables out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
burnout8488
Personally I've never had this issue, but that seems like a really good solution to beef them up. The only 30-pin/lightning cable I've had go bad in the last 10 years was from my R/C helicopter flying into one. :-)
Azimuth
I've done a couple more of these repairs recently. Below is the worst one I've seen to date. Before: After: Any opportunity to play with heat-shrink tubing LOL. I love using it in satellite projects too (what you guys call "cable").
