No new visible basestation equipment is needed for 41. All of the new gear (i.e. carrier cards) fits inside the existing cabinets.

Ericsson/Nokia:

Not sure which is best. I think general consensus is Nokia is best overall.

Thanks for the quick reply. Tech wise are they all the same, or what makes you say Nokia?

In the map the south looks to be Nokia. Your pictures mention Ericsson/Nokia. Does Sprint use just Nokia for LTE Band 41, or both of them in the south?

Nokia picked up Ericsson and its areas

Nokia does the 8T8R equipment in Ericsson areas, and Ericsson does the NV (dual mode B25/B26) equipment.

So what about Huawei? I know Sprint is supposed to be ripping them out due to security concerns, but someone told me that Huawei was able to upgrade all the old Clearwire WiMAX base stations to LTE. I do not beleive its 8x8 configuration, but I could be wrong. Where does Huawei with LTE fit in Sprints network since its not on the map above.

Just with Sprint, Clear used multiple vendors. In some markets Huawei upgraded sites to B41, Denver comes to mind. However, in many more markets, Samsung was the one doing the upgrade to dual mode WiMax/LTE. Clear sites, including Huawei, will be phased out over time. Single carrier Huawei sites are likely higher on the priority list to replace.
