Basically my ping is never below 90 ms. Not that that's bad but T-Mobile in my area gets around 28-40 ms. It's more responsive and fast in loading data in that sense. Does this have anything to do with NV and the way LTE cores are balanced on Sprint's network? I would think work like that on cores would be done for my market. It is highly variable.  Sprint LTE pings are between 20-90ms on average.  Backhaul is the biggest factor in the ping times.  Sprint does use dynamic routing to cores.  So if one is down or experiencing a slow down, it can be re-routed somewhere else.  

 

Sprint requires at setup new LTE sites be a minimum of 90ms.  Or the site is failed.  However, after taking over a site, there are reasons why ping can later exceed 90ms because of Sprint network management schemes.  Like dynamic rerouting.

 

I have had some T-Mobile LTE sites that are on microwave chains be over 100ms.  And where I live, VZW pings tend t be 70-120ms on LTE.  It just depends on where you are and where your data ends up going.  Highly variable on every network, really.  But in my observations, on the whole, Tmo has the lowest pings on average.  But all LTE networks I use all fall within very good ping ranges.

It should. Sprint is still upgrading their cores for more capacity. So in the interim there is am lot more moving around than there will be after all the network upgrades are complete. This will lower pings. Some markets have already stabilized with lower and more consistent pings.

I generally see pings of 29 to 65ms on Band 26 from 7+ miles away from the tower on 2 different towers I connect to.  I have noticed my B26 pings were quicker than B25.  But any who I think 29 was my fastest one I have seen on sprint!

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
