[HELP a Network Noob] What does 20+20 mhz LTE mean?

Recommended Posts

Hello~!

I read an article about T-Mobile rolling out 20x20 MHz (20+20 MHz) LTE to select cities and I realized I have no idea what 20+20 MHz LTE means.  :P  I performed a Google search but I can't find any articles that explain the differences between 5x5, 10x10, 20x20, etc.

Can someone explain what this terminology means or link me to an article that explains all this stuff?

Thanks.

20 + 20 is carrier aggregation of 2 20mhz LTE carrier.

20x20 is FDD-LTE designation for 40 mhz of spectrum with 20 mhz for downlink and uplink.
