I’m excited mainly for offline voice typing and Google Now! Google Now is such a huge feature and I don’t know why more carriers and Google don’t advertise it more often? It blows away Siri but no one even knows what it is. I showed it to a friend of mine who has a GS3 and they didn’t even know they had it! They couldn’t believe how cool it was. I do hope they fixed some of the other bugs but it looks like they fixed some (contacts) according to the doc. I really hope this isn't fake as I would want to do harm to that person, j/k lol. Have a great night boys and hopefully tomorrow we'll be Jellin! Jellin wit Jelly Bean baby! I remember others saying don't bash HTC as they are probably readying 4.2 instead and I told them no chance. I doubt we'll ever see 4.2 on our EVO LTE but if we do maybe around the time the next EVO iteration is being released?

I think the Evo will get it just a question of when. ..

I don't see what all the hoopla of Google Now is, I toyed around with it and took it off. Maybe its the stigma of the idiots talking to their phone on the idumb commercials making dinner that has tainted my judgement.

For me it's kinda cool to just have info I didn't have to ask for..

+1

The thing about Google Now is that instead of you going to your device when you want info, Google Now will bring the info to you. Examples like sports scores, etc., are abundant.

One other example is in my Calendar. If I has a location in an appointment, not only would it remind me of it, but it would tell me when I would have to leave to make it on time, accounting for traffic, and offered to navigate (this was on CM10 on my LTEvo)

I still have a hard time talking to my phone though. feel like a tool if i do it. especially if i have to repeat my request. . . in public. . .

Had Google Now on my old rooted Evo 3D. Actually got pretty annoyed with it after awhile. Sometimes I'd search for different menus of restaurants and then I'd get directions to those restaurants for the next hour or so. It is a cool concept though.

The point with Google Now is you don't have to ask, it already knows. I very rarely talk to my phone. The info is just there.

Sent from a phone using an application. That's pretty cool.

contacts issue fix: YES.

LTE scanning improvement: A MUST

Google Now: Mehh... OK

JB smoothness: (it is smooth now with ICS), so don't know how much better it will get.

Anyways, any improvements are always welcomed.

(Unless we end up with a new round of problems based on the update)... !!!!! <_<

You might give Google Now a try on a JB device if you haven't already. I know it was kind of patched together to get it to work on ICS and I had problems with it all the time. I've used it a couple of times on my Dad's GS3 and it worked perfectly.

Any update that doesnt causes problems is a good one in my book.

PS. Does anybody know if I update via OTA will I lose my unlock/rooted privs?

I would not take the OTA. Just wait for your favorite dev to update and then update the radio and such via the bootloader (I'm assuming you are S-OFF).

Sorry, no idea what S-OFF means. I just unlocked the device thru HTC unlock site and rooted thru another computer one-click program. I know I have superuser access and dont want to lose it because of the setting changes I have made to my device.
