Sprint going back to band 41 sites and installing new panels.. this is the most active sprint has ever been lol this panel I haven’t seen before

Are you certain that's new? That looks like a PCS only antenna. Unless there is a SMR capable antenna there as well, I don't see why that would have been installed, if it is in fact a Sprint antenna.

Not sure what you mean by that. Nokia is still there. Ericsson was the original and continued provider of B25 and B26 equipment for your area, and now provides B41 equipment as well. Where is the NV (B25/26) antenna?

Where is this site? Are there any other antennas visible?

The site is at the Marriott hotel on Montana and airway .. the only 2 panels that are visible on each side are the 2 in this picture.. the rack on the top is T-mobiles

Sprint co location taking place in El Paso.. I’ll get better pics, but I hope it’s not a band 25 only set and received band 41/26 later.. hope they add it all to the site

What kind of antennas are those?

No it appears they're using 16 port antennas, so tri-band. M-MIMO antennas will be separate and much smaller.

Octoport 8 port 4T4R 800 (2x RRUS11) + 4T4R 1.9 (RRUS32)

No 2.5 ?

Doesn't appear so but they do have two hybrid cables snaking up the tower. Second hybrid cable is usually used for 2.5 so keep an eye out in the near future for an 8T8R RRUS82 setup or AR6468.

El Paso and Las Cruces are night and day from when I was there a little over a year ago, especially Las Cruces.

Yup, and as far as I know that’s still with out band 26 and sprint went ahead and launched volte here as well

I believe my phone actually picked up B26 in Las Cruces, at least signal check displayed that. I’ll be back there in February, I’ll verify if it was a true hit on B26. B41 runs at 40+ Mbps and B25 at 20+ Mbps, hardly any slow spots in Las Cruces.  I imagine El Paso still has some bad areas, but at least around Bowie Bakery I had useable service whereas before it would just timeout.

Yeah doesn't look like there is any B41 at this point. Where is this site exactly? Any live signals yet?

4652 Barney St, El Paso, TX 79905. The site is close to the university medical hospital where sprint has the DAS inside.. no signals live yet, but will help fill in coverage much needed. I guess sprint will return at a later time to add band 41

Sprint is now done ripping out the equipment that was there prior and adding this new thicker panel on all 3 sectors

It appears to be another 8 port B25/26 antenna. What was there previously?

    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
    • At some point over the weekend, T-Mobile bumped the Omaha metro from 100+40 to 100+90 of n41! That's a pretty large increase from what we had just a few weeks ago when we were sitting at 80+40Mhz. Out of curiosity, tested a site on my way to work and pulled 1.4Gpbs. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on T-Mobile! For those that know Omaha, this was on Dodge street in Midtown so not exactly a quiet area!
    • Did you mean a different site? eNB ID 112039 has been around for years. Streetview even has it with C-band back in 2022 - https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7303042,-73.9610924,3a,24.1y,18.03h,109.66t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1s2ossx06yU56AYOzREdcK-g!2e0!5s20220201T000000!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3D2ossx06yU56AYOzREdcK-g%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.share%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26yaw%3D18.027734930682684%26pitch%3D-19.664180274382204%26thumbfov%3D90!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205410&entry=ttu Meanwhile, Verizon's eNB 84484 in Fort Greene has been updated to include C-band and CBRS, but not mmWave. I've seen this a few times now on updated Verizon sites where it's just the CBRS antenna on its own, not in a shroud and without mmWave. Odd.
    • Drove out into the country today.  Dish stuck to my phone like glue. At least -120 rsrp. Likely only good for phone calls (should have tested.) It then switched to T-Mobile. Getting back on Dish was another issue. I am used to dragging out coverage so I expected a few miles, but had to drive at least 10 miles towards a Dish site. Airplane mode, which worked for Sprint, did nothing. Rebooting did nothing. Finally got it to change over about 2 miles from the site by manually setting the carrier to Dish then it had great reception. Sprint used to have a 15 minute timeout but I did not have the patience today.  Previously I did a speed test on Dish out in the country at the edge of Dish coverage. My speeds were 2g variety. Dish has really overclocked some of these sites. Seen rssp readings in the 50s. Would have called them boomer sites with Sprint but much  more common with Dish.
