Network Vision/LTE - DFW Market (Dallas/Ft. Worth/Wichita Falls)

kinda low. -68 dBm is really good. You're LTE connection speeds don't dive until you get lower than -101 dBm' date=' according to Robert.[/quote']

You misunderstood me. EVDO speeds stay steady with signal degradation and do not dive until -101dBm RSSI.

LTE is very signal strength dependent. Speed from LTE goes down proportionally with signal strength decrease. The speed posted above with an average signal is actually pretty darn good.

No Love in Lewisville, I've been up and down FM3040 all day to no avail...

The most recent map of completed NV towers lacks coverage shows no entries for northern suburbs such as Plano, Frisco, The Colony, Carrollton, and Lewisville. Two towers in Richardson show up, and about an hour ago I established a 4G LTE connection to the one just north of UTD. Then there's one isolated completed tower just South of 380 on Preston Road.

The Ft. Worth area shows a lot more completed towers than the Dallas area.

So I live in Roanoke. I got the crappie end of this stick. Lol. LTE all around me, Enter Roanoke and nope. Anyways.... Robert you show a tower that gets 4G in June. I looked at it and its still got the old and no NV stuff. I'll post pictures if you'd like, and the tower info, if you care. That water tower I was messing with isn't upgraded yet. That guy I was talking to was fing with me. I was to out of it to realize it I guess. If I became a premium would you have the dates on that tower? If you read this. Let me know.

Anyways... This is the 4G up and down Highway 170 in Ft Worth. I-35W seems to be looking real good. Ft Worth Alliance Airport is covered. Also Texas Motor Speedway is covered.

11-16mbps LTE. 1.2-1.8mbps 3G.

Yes, dates are included in the maps in the premier member maps.

After a battery pull, I was finally able to get LTE signal on my GNex in Lewisville, TX - pretty decent speeds (got up to 23.91Mbps down, 9.71 up)

While my home and office are indicated as LTE covered at sprint.com/coverage, I can't get a LTE signal at either location (indoors or outdoors). I only got the LTE signal when I was right next to the Vista Ridge mall in Lewisville, TX

So, does this mean that the coverage indicated at sprint.com/coverage is 'future' coverage plans?(hopefully not!)

As Scott mentions above, the DFW schedule map in the Premier Sponsor section includes dates. I do not have a new schedule for this market. So in sites that are not competed, it shows how far behind schedule they are. Its my understanding that most of the delayed sites are backhaul related.

If a site that is scheduled doesn't have backhaul completed, crews will move on to another site where backhaul upgrades may have been done early.

No. It is current coverage. However, two things are in play. One, there are some sites that did not come up online with the launch as planned. Two, I think their maps are extremely liberal in showing coverage areas and do not appear to match up with downtilt info that I have about some of these sites.

It looks like the tower in South Arlington is still having issues. I only had a quick connection to LTE while traveling between Mansfield and Burleson. I'm definitely not getting LTE in Mansfield. I'd say the coverage map is more generous than accurate.

I was at a restaurant in the Riverside neighborhood of Fort Worth. Inside the restaurant I got these speed test results from the tower labeled DA03XC301 on your NV site map.post-2939-13424932807337_thumb.jpgpost-2939-13424933437907_thumb.jpg

Earlier in the day I was downtown and connected to the tower you have labeled DA13XC532.

Those speeds are faster than my home WiFi. Unfortunately, the towers near my house are still not activated for LTE.

I work right near Vista Ridge; Sprint has three tower co-los (One on the big main city tower down the raod from Vista Ridge, the 2nd right near where 121 @ 35E intersect in the NE quad, and the 3rd up on Bennett Road) that I know of from the Clear coverage maps [and a little help from some apps on my phone] :)

On the other ead of FM3040 aka Round Grove, headed towards Flower Mound is where I live, I figure that area won't see the 4G love for awhile, I'm in the middle of a big hole in Clear's service area that was future coverage at one point. If I can position the antenna just right /w the CPEi25150, i can get an RSSI of -76 and SnR of 13-17DBi, that to the tower up off Bellaire near Edmonds. I never understood why this little pocket with a few subdivisions seems to be lacking in coverage, 3G and 4G. My t-bolt has decent coverage on VZW LTE.

With the HTC EVO 4G LTE, there isn't a battery we can pull. I did install the 1.22 update and the newest radios, but after a few reboots here and there for the fun of it, no 4G in Lewisville I can find. I'll have to venture south later in the week and see what I can discover.

On Saturday, I took a trip over to UTD and here are three tests I ran:

----

Then today, while I was out running an errand in Lewisiville, near Vista Ridge Mall, I noticed 4G was on! Cause I was driving, I only had two test while I was stopped at a red light.

Hmmm... You know I think it is backhaul delays. I just turned my Airave off and I am getting 3 bars solid here now, before I was getting one-two bars if I was lucky. But the download speed is still crap. It makes me think they upgraded the towers to NV equipment even though the backhaul isn't ready yet.

Not certain but it seems plausible. I'll keep testing over the next few days.
