Rickie546
Was in olathe, ks and by 5 nv towers and had almost no luck with lte. Did have 4g pop on for 2 seconds and before I could launch a speedtest went to 3g, then back to 4g one more time then 3g. This was on santa fe between kansas ave and hwy 7. Try more parts of kc next Sunday.

S4GRU
The bastards are still blocking. I think they really are in no hurry to unblocked before the EVO is in customer hands. Although a part of me thinks that they won't light up LTE until an OTA for the EVO comes out. leerage
Man I hope my EVO comes in at best buy soon. I will be up in Gardner and Olathe and want to sniff out those LTE waves (that is if they have been unblocked).

S4GRU
the EVO LTE will need an OTA update before the LTE on the phone works (i believe' date=' correct me if im wrong)[/quote'] I have no confirmation when the OTA Fix for LTE Connectivity issues is coming. I don't think its possible to have been taken care of prior to leaving the factory. However, it may prompt you at activation to update. If the update isn't ready yet, I would love for a member to go to one of the Athens LTE sites working to see if they have LTE Connectivity issues with the EVO LTE. WiWavelength
Can any other KC area members confirm that eHRPD is down today Monday 6/04? Only NID 00041 (KC-LENEXA-MSC_1) and NID 00042 (KC-LENEXA-MSC_2) seem to be affected. eHRPD is restored upon crossing back over to NID 00043 (KC-INDEPENDENCE-MSC_1). kckid
When I got in my truck from working out, I looked at the phone and the 4G indicator was on. It must have been on that tower only, when I drove away, it changed back to 3G. The location was 135th and neiman in Overland Park, KS. themuffinman
Excellent, with me getting lte the other day as well and the other poster in houston in the other thread, now this one, it looks like the official launch is right around the corner. kckid
Yes, I ran a speed test, they have some tuning to do. It is like 512K download and 4mb upload. No those are not reversed. I was surprised too. I have download netmonitor so I can tell what tower I'm connected to next time. Edited June 9, 2012 by kckid
WiWavelength
Well, damn, I was in KC nearly every day this week. But it looks like I am going to have make another trip over to the city today to do some testing. AJ

It will likely tell you the 1x/EVDO. And the chances of you being on a different 1x/EVDO and LTE site are pretty high. But I'm interested to see what you find out using NetMonitor. kckid
Well I was back in the area this afternoon, definitely must be testing, because when I got there it was 3G service. After going into the store and then getting ready to leave, it switched to 4G. Net monitor showed connections to 3 different towers at times. All in a circle around me. I will do netted next time capturing logs and speed test.
kckid
Update: Didn't think 4G was on this morning, but after working out, I was driving home and 4G popped up at 135th and Switzer. I turned around and stopped in the St. Andrews golf parking lot. Net monitor show the network type as LTE, but I could find a pen fast enough to write all the info down, but here is the info when connected to same tower eHRPD Lat 38.8830 Lon -94.7147 acc 4(M) Alt 274(m) Opr 310 Sprint Network Type eHRPD NID 41 BID 9745 Speed Test w/ 2 bars Down UP Ping 1. 3368kbps 3876kbps 68ms 2. 3115kbps 3807kbps 64ms 3. 3855kbps 5835kbps 53ms 4. 3128kbps 3744ib0s 68ms
WiWavelength
kckid, you were not connected via eHRPD, which is just a variation on EV-DO. The data speeds that you measured -- both uplink and downlink -- are impossible for an eHRPD/EV-DO Rev A single carrier. So, you were connected via LTE. I investigated the site at 135th & Black Bob last night. Here is a screen cap of my EVO LTE connected via LTE: AJ
danielholt
eHRPD is a component of an LTE site.

themuffinman
Also Power + VOL Down works on EVOlte. Robert via Galaxy Nexus using Forum Runner Awesome, didn't realize that worked as well. I figured it was just specific to the gnex, so maybe the power volume down thing is a standard ICS feature.
