I know this is a dumb question, but does anyone know Sprint 4G LTE progress in Philadelphia region? Are they building towers here now or not? Thanks.

I notice a lot of post regarding the markets in IL,FL,TX,PA,NYC.... but how about about the Los Angeles market? I THINK it was samsung doing the set up for the L.A market? Not sure though.... I'm not a sponsor member of the site so I can't really check... if I had a job I'd most definitely donate! Couple of months ago the local towers were all down and being upgraded to NV I assume since Larry from Howard forums said there was NV work being done my zip code. The speeds were better for a bit but now they are awful again. Can anyone (most preferred Robert) make a comment on if there is any LTE activity near 90255 area code? Thanks, great site by the way... WRAL is reporting RDU is being delayed (or at least not prioritized) for NV updates. http://wraltechwire.com/business/tech_wire/opinion/blogpost/11546821/ Does this jive with what you've heard, or is it wrong information? The running list here says RDU is due for launch in December. I think this story is a little wrong (they asked for a comment from a Sprint CSR; apparently by chat, not an official PR spokesperson).

i wanted to know what round will maryland be in and is nv going underway in this market right now i have seen speeds 1.5 to 2 megs down consistantly before it was under 600 kps so i wanted to ask

Did you know that with many Sprint (Uniband) LTE Android devices, the signal strength indicator at the top does not show your LTE signal strength? Even if 4G or LTE is displayed next to it? That's right! This signal displayed here is your 1x (voice signal), and it is not your 3G EVDO signal strength, nor your LTE signal strength. Regardless of whether it says 3G or 4G next to it. This is the cause of a lot of confusion. Also, third party apps like NetMonitor do not show accurate LTE signal strengths. They also only show the 1x signal strength, even though they may reference being connected to LTE. The purpose of this thread is to help educate the masses, because many people think they have a strong LTE signal, when in fact they do not. And then they are unhappy, thinking that Sprint LTE is really slow, even with a strong signal. LTE performance is very signal strength dependent. So, when you have a weak signal, you can expect much slower than peak results. There is only one accurate way to get your LTE signal strength, and that is from your LTE Engineering screen in your Debug menu. Hey guys i am curious....i switched to boost mobile and i was curious if there are any handsets that support carrier aggregation.

I failed to see a device thread for the LG G Pad F 7.0 with Android 5.0 Lollipop, so it is now up for discussion. Some earlier versions say they are single LTE bands 25, 26 or 41, but this Sprint offering does say Spark ready on the box. I really like the QPair app which helps you find your phone from the tablet or the tablet from your phone. Push a spot and the missing device rings. . It seems to find and switch towers much better than the HTC One m9. I ran both between Omaha and Des Moines on two separate round trips this past week. I read bands 25, 26 and 41 as I drove along I-80. There were times this tablet was picking up LTE 26 or 41 and the HTC One m9 was at 3G. They were about a foot apart when this constantly occurred along the trip. I did run into a problem with some apps that ran on Android 4.X.X would not tun on Android 5.0 Lollipop. One example is a photo app that I use for work - Touch Mobile available on the Play Store. Double Shot - I was not able to get the video volume up enough to overcome background noise. When it works, it controls photo size for both still and video operation. It is really a nice photo app after the learning curve. For validation, I got better video volume in the same app on a Samsung Tab 2.0. The speakers are on the back. Sounds are muffled by the case that I have it it. If you like sound like music and videos etc, you will want to be selective which case you place it in. It seems to work well with Sensorly, Signal Check and LTE Discovery. Park this puppy in your lap if you in the Co-Pilot seat. I ran all three of them with the unit plugged into the car charge without an issue. I recommend you do any app download and install via a good Wi-Fi connection. CAUTION: Sprint delivers it on a ONE GIG data plan unless you place it on the Sprint Family share pack or some other data plan. IMO the data plan is expensive unless you can access Wi-Fi easily to keep your data plan usage down. But in a pinch, you do have the data plan usage available when Wi-Fi just is not available. IMO, I can keep my data usage cost down when I get close to the 1 Gig cap by using a third party service portable Wi-Fi which uses Sprint as the backbone provider.

They are constantly doing work on this tower I know its not the best photo but they just put these white panels on the tower I have checked and found that the tower is owned by STC Two LLC which is a subsidiary owner of sprint towers, my thing is, is that on the sprint website it's not marked for an LTE upgrade. I've seen lots of trucks with huge metal box like building things along with tons of people working in and out of there. On sprints website there is information about tower upgrades like data speeds upgrades and data capacity upgrades. he tower in my area is going to have (or already has) a data speed upgrade and I would like to know what that is? I doubt it is 4g because I live in a rural area and from what I have read, sprint isn't going to upgrade to evdo rev b. Also, my phone is connected to evdo rev a:8 and my dads is rev a:6 and I would like to know what the difference is and what the numbers mean. I am curious because my data speeds have been horribly slow the last few days, as apposed to the good data speeds i can usually get, and i would like to know if the slow speeds could be because of the tower being upgraded. I am sorry for the long post but 3g is my only internet connection at my house and I would like to know what is going on. Thanks in advance!

So as people know, Verizon, also a CDMA carrier, is going to issue an OTA update which will let Galaxy S3 owners take their phones around the world, including to GSM countries. I called up Sprint and asked them: if Sprint wanted to, could they do the same, and the guy told me that if they wanted to, they could. Now LTE is a GSM based technology, which means that any LTE phone has GSM capabilities either enabled or disabled in part. I switched from a Photon, which I still own, in part knowing that this could happen. But the Photon doesn't have LTE or SVDO. The GS3 does have a SIM card, but the plastic cover in the battery case covers, or embeds it. I found a petition online seeking to encourage Sprint to do the same. Shouldn't this be a part of the Network Vision, to give customers as many reasons to stay with Sprint as possible?

I looked at my EVO 4G LTE phone this afternoon and noticed it went to 4G...and has been on for over 3 hours now. 3Meg Down and 2 Meg up last speed check I did.

I'm in the D.C/Baltimore market and I have been painstakingly holding out on upgrading my EVO to the LTE EVO for the primary reason of Sprint not launching the LTE network in my area yet. I figured I could wait it out for about a month or so but now it's pushing two months and I'm getting antsy. The storm that hit us last week doesn't help either so I know the launch must be delayed by however many weeks. I did read that sprint is also improving their 3G signal strength as a buffer to launching the LTE network but I've always had 4G coverage and when I'm in 3G coverage, it's annoyingly too slow for me. To make matters worse, my EVO is stuck on the 2.3.5 version update which had to have been the worst software update ever so my phone constantly restarts HTC Sense. I use the wireless hotspot as my primary source of internet and I have never had a good experience with the hotspot feature while in 3G coverage.

I was wondering if there was anyway to see or find out which cell tower your phone is connected to? any help will be greatly helpful.
