  1. I was in Chicago three weeks ago and had 800 everywhere I went. Not once did I drop a call. Usually at my wife's uncle house I would get one to two bars inside and one bar to no service in the basement. With 800 I had three to four bars. I was impressed and happy. However, I was unable to get LTE inside the house. LTE on the street was considerably fast and consistent. I traveled all around Naperville, Woodridge, Bolingbrook, Lombard, Downers Grove and Wheaton.
  2. What is Canadian IBEZ (NO SMR) and why is there a "Special Case PCS Only Setup for Canadian IBEZ?"
  3. I'm with you on that one dmaxx67. I mainly roam (VZ or MPCS) in my house and am lucky to get one or two bars. Come on 800mhz!!!
  4. I am trying to figure out how I connected to 1X 800 in the area where I live (second link below). The only thing I would think is that they are testing in the area? I was right around where the "10" is right of Redbud Park (first link below). The tower just south of Redbud Park was the first LTE tower near me. My neighborhood is located just above the "W" in W Euless Blvd that is under West Park. I am on the cusp of all those towers. My cell reception is absolutely terrible. I get no bars to maybe one bar if I'm not roaming on Metro PCS or Verizon. I would hope that 800mhz would resolve my reception issues though the signal I had was a weak one at that. The closest 800mhz tower near me is located at 32.739444, -97.111944 and that is about 5-6 miles away that has elevation drops and rises as well as tons of foliage. My PRL is 55014 which I believe is (Worldphone) LTE/800SMR. Thoughts? pic.twitter.com/3DR2P9y4g0 pic.twitter.com/WvYGb2rBQK
  5. I'm in the DFW market. How would I tell if I am on CDMA 800? Is there anyway for me to switch my phone over to CDMA 800?
  6. After reading this interesting thread I started wondering if by some chance I have picked up on a 800 Mhz signal on my Evo 4G LTE. I noticed that Robert stated, "You only need it when you have a low 1900 signal, like inside a basement or far away from a tower. Your device will only scan for 800 SMR CDMA when the 1900 CDMA carrier have a poor EcIo ratio." Well for instance, I am at work right now and in the direct center of the building. I am in a room with no windows in the center of the building. Around the outside of the room is a hallway lined with offices with windows. I get one bar of Sprint with a -105 dBm signal to two bars of MetroPCS or Verizon signal with a signal of -100 to -103 dBm. With that said, tongboy stated earlier, "My personal experience with my evo lte is you need to loose pretty much all the pcs signal before it switches to the SMR band. Once my phone acquired the SMR band it held onto it for a while even when I moved into an area that I could get pcs. Eventually it switched back." I guess there is no 800 mHz signal on towers in downtown Fort Worth or for some reason my phone just isn't connecting to it. Any thoughts?
  7. Chong67, I seem to be having the same problem. When I reboot my phone at my house before I leave for work, 4G signal comes in great on my way in to work. I get 4G about 75%-80% of my trip. However, If I don't reboot my phone, the 4G signal will be picked up and I will get around 25% of my trip in to work. I understand the roll out is still under way in the DFW area, but I do remember Sprint saying that the signal handoff between towers will be better than any other carrier which in return will make the 4G/3G experience more efficient. I currently do not see that but I am optimistic it will get better over time. I just can't wait until the DFW area is blanketed with LTE and able to penetrate houses and buildings like 3G.
  8. This is from the same site that I posted about back on August 2nd. Wish it was covering the DFW area and able to penetrate buildings. Then it would be solid. Can't wait for 800Mhz voice and LTE in late 2013. I'll have to get another phone to take part of the 800 Mhz LTE. Has anyone gotten similar or faster speeds? If so, where? https://twitter.com/...0455040/photo/1 Sprint tower is located at 32.807363, -97.172962
  9. Just wanted to share my LTE speeds with everyone. All the speeds shown are from the same tower located at 32.807354, -97.172962. It seems that I get the fastest speeds when coming from the East. I still get fast speeds on the west side but not as fast. Other LTE NV towers in downtown Fort Worth give me anywhere from 2Mbps-15Mbps down depending on where I am. Judging where I get faster speeds as opposed to fast, yet not as fast speeds, seems it all depends on the tilt from the radios (and obivously buildings, trees, etc.). This is some exciting stuff. Can't wait until Novemeber (apparently 100% completion in DFW)! https://twitter.com/ragweed03/status/231137672226299904/photo/1 https://twitter.com/ragweed03/status/231138022119325696/photo/1
  10. I have my Evo 4G LTE in Network Mode in LTE/CDMA yet 4G doesn't automatically connect. If I switch to CDMA Only and then back to LTE/CDMA, it will connect to 4G. I have also been able to get 4G to connect by turning off the Mobile Network and then back on. Is this an issue with Sprint's network, my phone, or is that the way it is suppose to be?
