  1. 2 Year Contracts Back?

Sprint isn't bringing it back as an option for everyone but as a targeted offer for certain people. So far this year, I've been getting 2-year contract offers for the GS8, GS8+, and the Note 8.
  2. SITE UPGRADE WARNING

How do I search for S4GRU in Tapatalk? I can't even find it anymore.
  3. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

Anyone else having this issue? "Ok Google" voice commands do not work when the phone is plugged in & charging. The prompt appears but when I speak, it's as if the microphone isn't working. Off the charger, everything works fine. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

Calling Plus isn't enticing enough for me to flash the Sprint 955U ROM. ???? Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
  5. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

Sounds promising. Hopefully the 955U1 GS8+ will get that update as well. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  6. Today I was at the Zara clothing store inside South Coast Plaza - a known Sprint deadzone for both voice & data - and to my surprise, I got an alert from SignalCheck Pro that I was connected to Sprint 1x800 voice. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&id=0BzXeLw4AsxZHQXBCb0lQQVhlRWM And going deeper inside the store, I didn't lose voice nor data this time. SignalCheck Pro reported that I was still on B41. I guess Sprint is making improvements to this area. I've sent several reports to Sprint about this dead zone through their app.

I suppose you're right but it sure is getting frustrating waiting on Sprint to demonstrate perceivable improvements in the areas where competitors have either improved or are doing well already. Back on the topic of GS8, the phone is slowly but surely winning me over despite my initial reluctance and skepticism to upgrade from my GS7E. The GS7E is now with my mother and her old Note 3 has become one of my backup phones. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the TGSP situation is a lot better for the GS8 family than it was for the GS7 family. I purchased a case-friendly TGSP from Otium on Amazon and it was a perfect fit with no loss of touch sensitivity & no "rainbow smear" artifacts. For the back glass, I've protected it with a clear film from IQ Shield. As long as I have a case on it, finding & using the FPS has been a nonissue. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk

It is still too early to congratulate Samsung but since March, the U GS7E has been getting updates monthly. Same for the 955U1 GS8. Samsung has, so far, improved their support for the USA Unlocked models. Little by little, they're catching up to Apple's standards. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
  9. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

That's a surprise since even the 955U1 has been already updated. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  10. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

Tested out the GS8+ & its HPUE ability inside the Mission Viejo mall and its known dead and 3G spots. There were no improvements at all. I brought along my 910C unlocked Note 4 with a T-Mobile mint SIM card and I had strong LTE all around despite the phone not supporting Band 12. I'm getting more certain I'll be leaving Sprint once the remaining 2 lines are finally out of contract. Band 26 would've been good to have but Mexico.... Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk

But it is supported regardless. Don't know why they would remove such info. I'm connected to B41 right now. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
  12. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

AFAIK, that's correct hardware-wise. But only the 955U1 IMEIs can be used across all carriers. Carrier models flashed to 955U1 won't work across all carriers. For instance, you can't use Verizon, T-Mobile, & AT&T GS8 flashed to 955u1 on Sprint b/c Sprint won't add the IMEI into their system. Verizon flashed to 955U1 can be used on all carriers except Sprint. Buying a true 955U1 model GS8 is the best overall option. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
  13. Samsung Galaxy S8 & Dual Sim/Duos

Yes, but they listed the Unlocked models as "Special Edition" models for the GS7 & GS8 families. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk

I'm using the Coral Blue GS8+ 955U1 right now on Sprint just fine. CA works, as well as WiFi calling (although I don't use it). Sprint Chat had no issue activating my phone. I just had to stop by a corporate store to pick up a free compatible SIM card. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk

Most likely because I'm coming from a GS7E on the U firmware, I'm not really blown away by the GS8+. Already thinking about selling it as soon as the GS9 comes out. Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
