  1. Follow @TweakTown and RT to win a speedy new Intel 335 Series 240GB SSD. Details: Read more at http://t.co/yE4bjkf.

  2. waiting for @thurrott take on sinofsky departure. I'm still shocked, I thought he was going to run the show.

  3. From this article, sounds like Sprint might be looking to counter offer to stop T-mobile from offering 20x20 MHz LTE.
  4. Interesting read in business week. Looks like Sprint and Tmobile have its challenges bringing Metro PCS into the fold: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-10-04/metropcs-is-a-tricky-fit-for-both-sprint-and-t-mobile
  5. Drove down Irving park Road in Bensenville today. Using 3G, I was getting 2+ down on my iphone. Insanely fast, finally the NW suburbs are getting some love
  6. taking the train from Medinah sucks this week....where are all these people going ;)

  7. Not good right now but improvements are on the way. I would not port over to Sprint just yet. He'll see a significant decrease in speed moving from Tmobile to Sprint right now.
  8. I live in the schaumburg/hoffman area. I agree that this area has always had slow data problems no matter what network I was on. If I go north a few miles to Palatine I received 1.2 down there on my iPhone. I'm sure that this area will be fixed when NV is complete. Just not sure why this area has been a problem and continues to be a problem during the NV roll out.
  9. I second that, I assumed it was because of back haul and the "launch" would start this fall. This is the first I've read this ( but I maybe missed it earlier. If this is the case my guess is that Chicago won't officially "launch" till maybe late this year.
  10. I thought this forum was trying to stay away from complaints. While complaints are warranted in Chicago-land, there are other forums that would be more appropriate.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong, but LTE cannot go live without back-haul. NV may be complete on the site and may offer minimal 3G improvement, but you won't see LTE till back-haul is installed. I understand the frustration but didn't Verizon launch LTE with 30-40% complete in Chicago as well? Then Verizon continued its LTE build out until it covered all of chicago land. Yet Verizon still advertised 4G LTE when it didn't finish covering Chicago. Sprint knows its service isn't up to par in chicago, right now customers have to bite the bullet and be patient. Building out a state of the art network doesn't happen overnight. Launching at 30-40% shows progress and that's what I want to see. It shows that the market will be covered shortly. As a Sprint customer, I'm paying much less than I would at AT&T, Verizon, and Tmobile for sub par service. I understand that and accept that. I also understand the upgraded network is coming and its going to be a bumpy road to get there.

    #mudwars tomorrow, not ready but....here....we....go

  13. Question for those of you that know more about NV. How does a city which is Sprint NV complete compare to a city that is covered by Verizon? I understand that Sprint is updating back haul and launching improved 3G and new LTE on 1900 in 2012-2013. Sprint will launch LTE on 800 in 2013. Clear will launch LTE on 2500 starting in 2013 for those urban environments. I just dont know anything about the verizon network and how it compares. Any insight? I'm in Chicago, Verizon definitely has great 3G and LTE coverage here. I believe LTE is on 700 so it penetrates buildings well. Thanks
