    WOW. GREAT. At least the options are there. Maybe we can get activation on this real soon. If it ever shows up on my S9, I probably add the check-mark on some of this to see if it will work properly. Might have to go back and un-check it, but I would try it.

    How does 5G fix the band 41 upload issue??? I have to see that. The only way I can fix it is turn off Band 41. Maybe moving to another carrier where there is no band 41 would fix the issue too. At Sprint, 5G uses band 41 for both 4G and 5G. So 5G on Sprint probably has the same issue. Poor upload. Maybe MIMO on 5G helps, but the phones just can not transmit a strong enough signal on band 41.

    Maybe you have a NEED for 5G. I surely do not. Just give me 4G that works well and I am happy. Right now, I need Sprint to activate 25+41 aggregation. I have plenty of band 41 signals around here but the upload on my S9 just does not work on weaker band 41. I do not see anybody coming up with an activation date for 25+41 but it is making life horrible without it. HPUE sure was not the answer to band 41 upload issues.

    Good find Trip. But I will NOT be buying a new 5G handset today and maybe for years, especially on T-Mobile. MAYBE, just MAYBE, if T-Mobile does team up with Sprint and get enough spectrum to do 5G right, I may consider 5G. Not now however.

    Glad to do it , Robert. Especially now with all the work to convert and update all the maps. I know you and some others are really putting some major time in on the project. I look at your S4GRU site every day and most of the time, I am looking several times. The cost to operate the site is often overlooked. So many sites today are supported by paid ads that just destroy the experience at the site. This site is very clean and easy to navigate. Just loaded with info. Everybody that uses the site should step up and make a donation.

    Just received the November 1 security update for my UNLOCKED s9. No VOLTE. No 25+41 aggregation either. The last few updates did absolutely NOTHING that is visible to me.

    Like I posted earlier. Extortion. I wonder if T-Mobile and/or Sprint could sue the Attorney Generals in these states after this is settled. Sue them for Billions. What has T-mobile or Sprint done that is illegal? Nothing. They just asked politely to join forces. These are National companies regulated by the Federal Government. I see no state or Federal laws being broken.

    These states are really into extortion. Do "this" or else. Kinda a quid pro quo and I did not mean this in a political way to stir up something.

    You might be right on the S9 holding on to band 41. I have two of them. One makes me upset, but the other one makes my wife upset and that is a bad situation. She gets upset and starts telling me how bad that phone is and why did I buy it. I would think that Sprint should be able to see a phone is struggling to upload anything and shift it to another band. The cell site should force the phone off band 41 when it is struggling, Something sure does smell bad with this and the stink is forcing people to look elsewhere.

    Yes, s9 unlocked. Upload on B41 is horrible. Many times, no upload at all. My b25 is quite good. A 10x10 and a 15x15 aggregated.

    I have that feeling that sooner or later they are going to release some kind of 25+41 aggregation and brag about how it fixed things. My gut feeling is it will still be royally screwed up. Right now, I absolutely must have WI-Fi in my home as I am constantly locked on B-41 2x CA that does not work at all. Why they would push phones on band 41 at levels of -130 and hold them there just does not make sense. Nothing works at -130. NOTHING. Even -120 on band 41 is a dud. Why do they insist on trying to use band 41 when the levels are crap? Allow the phones to depart from band 41 when it is unusable. No wonder they lose customers. This is a self inflicted wound and it is a serious one.

    Have you EVER seen 25 + 41? Is it available at all? It is fine to aggregate 41 + 41 if the level is good. But 25 + 41 should be preferred when the levels are questionable on band 41.

    Did you try to MANUALLY enable the 41 + 25 aggregation? if so, does it seem to work? If that works well, it will solve a big issue for a boatload of people. My area is covered with band 41 and the phone hangs on to this band 41 forever. But the upload is horrible and the result is a quite unusable connection much of the time.

    You also probably need to consider any T-mobile merger and what it may do to the maps. would you try to place all t-moble sites on the Sprint map? Also, would you eventually wind up with everything being t-mobile in a year or two?

    Could be either or both. Why an s-8 would be ahead of a s9 in features does need answered? I desperately need 25 + 41 aggregation. My s9 has band 41 about everywhere due to adequate cell sites that are spaced correctly. But while I have decent band 41 on the receive side, the phone desperately needs to do the upload on band 25. Phone just hangs onto band 41 but little or no upload makes the service unusable. I am beginning to wonder if the s9 is ever going to be able to be upgraded to 25 + 41. Beginning to wonder if VOLTE will ever appear on the s9.

    Not sure exactly what you are asking here, but it is a UNLOCKED s9 purchased at Best Buy on the Sprint Network.

    Just received the OCT update for my s9 UNLOCKED. No changes are apparent. No VOLTE. No improved carrier aggregation options. Samsung-----You are looking bad, very bad. The Oct update is pushed on November 1. Late and it looks worthless. Nothing gained unless it is hidden.

    Both Sprint and Samsung should be embarrassed at how poorly the s9 has been treated since its release. VOLTE has been ignored. Many of the carrier aggregation options have been ignored. Something abnormal is going on with this phone. I will be looking at other brands when my s9 dies. The older s8 was updated much better then the newer s9.

    Does anybody have any idea at all why Sprint would not activate VOLTE on the Samsung S9? Seems really strange how the S8 and s10 have VOLTE and the s9 does not. Is there some valid reason why? Is there a hardware issue with the s9? Just the normal fumbling and bungling? Looks really strange and it sure does not make Sprint or Samsung look good. This type of thing is why many people leave Sprint.

    The s9 is good at receiving Band 41, but not transmitting to the cell site. My question is --- why don't they fix this? Kick the s9 off band 41 when it struggles to upload to band 41 and can't do it. Or better yet, get band 25 upload going with band 41 download. Do something. Just fix it and yesterday.

    The September update for the unlocked version is available today if you manually check for it. I have it installed. No option to turn on VOLTE. No new carrier aggregation options. This is getting old. Reporting this same news month after month. I have had about 8 or 9 monthly updates to this UNLOCKED S9 since it was new and I am not seeing any improvements to it. Why would a S9 be getting ignored? My CDMA 1x service works fine and I really am not suffering because I lack VOLTE. But it just is the bungling and fumbling on getting VOLTE active and it is for no apparent reason. Then they allow band 41 to take over about everything and keep me on it almost everywhere when upload does not work well on band 41. This upload issue was known before they even launched B-41. Being connected to B-41 on LTE+ at levels of -110 to -130 is a disaster. And it just continues and continues. No upload at all and the phone stays on the unusable B-41.

    Just installed the update on my S9. No VOLTE unless they hid it somewhere. Also, no improved Carrier aggregation either.The last two updates done NOTHING that is visible to me. This is really starting to tweak me. WHY is the s9 being treated so badly? Is there some type of fatal design flaw with these phones that can not be overcome? VOLTE is available almost everywhere, but why not on the S9 which is still fairly new? No new aggregation options. It really needs the 25 &41 aggregation that is talked about but never appears. Due to improvements probably at the cell sites, I am getting locked onto band 41 much more frequently. But it is not usable because of the poor upload from the phone. I actually have LTE+ in my home at levels of -111 to -128. But at those levels, I get absolutely NO upload. No wonder people say Sprint Sucks and leave for another carrier. I do use Wi-Fi at home and that solves the issue at home, but waling into another building somewhere causes the DATA to freeze at these levels.

    A 1x*800 signal can travel much more than 3 miles and even with some trees hurting the signal strength. The signal can also be blocked at even less than 3 miles depending on what the obstruction is.
