It has been 6 months since the Photon was released, could Moto be bringing something big to the LTE table?

It would be great to see Moto provide a Sprint model. In the past, I wouldn't think that Motorola would cross their biggest customer Verizon by giving that device out. But with Google getting in charge of things at Motorola Mobility, I think the chances are getting better.

I suppose a lot of it depends on how the RAZR idea was thought up. Motorola might have given Verizon a period of exclusivity with the device and planned on rolling it out to other carriers, or it could have been totally exclusive with no other release. Whatever the case, I hope the monster battery this beast is packing catches on. If they can put a 3300 mAh battery in a RAZR, they can put it in about anything.

That would be neat if Sprint got this. When the Photon came out, both Motorola and Sprint stated they were renewing their relationship. I was beginning to wonder since Moto has released 7-8 phones since then (half going to Verizon) with none coming to Sprint.. This would be a good way to keep the momentum and see if Moto phones can get away from the stranglehold Verizon has on them.

Yeah, I'm hoping the Moto drought at Sprint since the Photon is related to the switch to LTE. I would be willing to give a Motorola product a try if it is a truly flagship device. Especially if it's packing a 3300mAh battery! ;)

@Pyroscott: True.. good point.

@S4GRU: In regards to post 2, I definitely see your point, however, keep in mind, Moto did give sprint the XPRT.. which is the same thing as the Droid Pro. So, I like your thinking that maybe Moto is holding back until Sprints 4G LTE is launched.

So.. I'll keep my hopes up for now.. Sprint and Moto did say last summer when they announced the Photon that there would be more to come from Moto on Sprints network. I would like to see some more Moto Devices.. I hear the radios in them are great.. picking up signals where other phones fail. If not, I'll be looking for the next flagship HTC device (EVO). The (original) EVO 4G was (is) one of the best devices I've ever used or seen. (I'm sporting a Galaxy S II, EVO 4G, and Nexus S 4G now.)

You guys are too nice to me. I did completely forget about the XPRT. I don't think you would be so nice in pointing out my mistakes if I was just another forum poster. I sometimes have a tendency to only think of blockbuster/flagship devices, since that's all I want for myself.

:P

Thanks for not making me feel stupid!

Agreed, I don't know why they even bother building the lower end phones. I don't think I have even bought a phone that wasn't a flagship device.

    • My s24 Ultras auto updated to April 1 security patch over night. Not on wi-fi.  Play system remains at March 1. No notice that update occurred on screen.
    • Got the latest update. On my S24 ultra the NR-ARFCN display remains constant (which is inaccurate according to diags) while n41 and 38 toggle back and forth.  I updated then rebooted before testing. Two sims active. My security patch level updated automatically to April 1 before this update. Diags sent while n38 was displaying.
    • Was able to install the March 1 Android security patch. Seems slightly more accurate with 5g ca band id, but can not swear by it. Updated google play system update through the software information screen to March 1. *#73# still works. Froze updates waiting on SCP update beta to fix n41 showing as n38.
    • Just installed it. Thanks for the info.  71 mb mar 1st date.
    • There's a permit for a new 47 story building at 205 Montague St in Downtown Brooklyn. The problem is that  T-Mobile eNB 48352 is on the building next door and this new building will block two out of 3 sectors of the site. For reference, the new building will be roughly as tall as 16 Court St which is right across the street. This site is the primary site covering Cadman Plaza so I wonder what the plan is. Will they just try to change sector placement, move to a different building, or will this just speed up the conversion of the Sprint site at 25 Monroe Place?
