I am sure it is easy to just flash a stock version to the device and Make it a non ad version, but with a $50 discount.

Sprint should allow any fully network capabke device BYOD nowadays, IMHO. Otherwise you're turning down revenue and angering potential customers and existing customers. Not the time to do that.

Yeah. I can totally understand restricting BYOD to triband devices, but beyond that there should be no restrictions. None of the prepaid only BS. That just doesn't make sense as Sprint themselves are trying to move away from subsidies.

It'll work on BYOD.

Eligible devices - Coming Soon:

Samsung Galaxy S7 Special Edition

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Special Edition

Moto G4

Moto G4 Plus

What I'm interested to know is if CA will work properly. Or if it'll be nerfed like the Moto X PE. Also 2x or 3x CA?

I'm interested in the phone from a software testing perspective for Android apps. I like that it's unlocked, I like that I can grab a 16GB variant for $125... but I'm not a fan of the Amazon crapware. How easy is this thing to root?

I bought this phone with Amazon adds.. Had them hidden within 30 minutes. Just takes disabling the Amazon apps and hiding the rest from the terminal/shell. The Amazon software being hidden persists through reboots and is just like the retail. Also have seen where the bootloader is unlockable.

I got the Moto G with Amazon ads on Tuesday and, honestly, the lockscreen ads don't bother me. I think I've seen a full-screen ad exactly once -- the first time I turned it on. If you have any notifications, the ads only show up as a notification. Since I always have at least a coupe of notifications (SignalCheck, weather) I always get the notification-style ads and, honestly, don't even notice what product is being advertised much of the time. Well worth the price of the phone, especially as a backup phone or something. I plan on using it until the next Nexus comes out, then keep it as a backup.
