Cases affecting signal

Do you guys think various popular cases for phones are having a significant impact on signal strength/band utilization on sprints network? Such that towers are throwing users off band41 more often due to case plus being in pocket resulting in more band25/26 congestion.

I have a spigen neo metal for my note 4 that degrades my signal

My sister had one that cut signal strength by at least half for 3G, LTE, and WiFi. I took it from her and used it to find 800 Mhz & force roam when needed [emoji13]

My Otterbox Defender takes on average 2-5 dBm off when I have it on my G3. 

 

But I'd rather take a small signal loss then a scratched screen or broken phone...

Probably not. Good luck getting people to go case-less. Sprint optimizes using their own tools.

I'll stop using a case when my phone is adamantium and diamond. Until then its caseville, population: me.

Not to mention metal back on the phone itself. On AT&T, side by side iPhone 4S with glass back vs iPhone 5 metal both on 4g (non-LTE). 6-7 dbm difference.

I am now using my galaxy s6 without a case. Hopefully this helps sprint analyze data using their big data tools more accurately.

What you do with your phone is a drop of water in an ocean. You aren't going to skew any of Sprint's data one way or another. Sprint's engineers know about the propagation effects of cell phone cases, and have an idea about how many people use them.

Well I do not want to skew their big data in any way, so I will leave my case off and hopefully others follow. This way their optimization will be better.
