I've gotten an "invalid SIM" warning a couple times post update. Never seen one before, likely unrelated but wanted to post it up here. Reboot seems to fix it, obviously I'll head into a store if it persists.

I used to have this all the time. Open up the SIM slot and re-seat the SIM card. It fixed my problem.

Edit: I just noticed you already did that. Hopefully it fixed the problem, I haven't seen the error message for months now.

It's pretty common with the Note5. I have it happen too. Best fix is a paper clip followed by a reboot.

Looks like just the February security patches.

So the one I received in late February is January security update. It was around 54 MB

Btw this update is twice the size of the last one.

Yeah it's a bit bigger this time, hopefully the next one is over a GB and is Nouget.

That would be sweet.

These sim/network errors are getting really annoying, just spent 15 minutes ejecting the sim and then restarting the phone and then ##72786# a few times... Finally back on LTE, don't know for how long though... About to contact Sprint, this is not cool.

I haven't had any of these issues either.. Hate to see when others are having troubles with their devices.

I had SIM errors on my phone too.  It was intermittent and got more and more frequent.  I researched a bit and found other people on various carriers that had similar problems.   Solution was simple as recommended by others.  I took it to a Sprint store and told them that the SIM card was bad.  They replaced it free and I've not had another problem since.  That was over a year ago.

when i turned my screen on it was on the setup page for it. I did nothing

Oh nvm, I just got the prompt when I restarted my phone... For some reason my phone didn't update the time for DST overnight so I just wiped the cache partition and on reboot the time fixed itself and in the process gave me Google Assistant. :)

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
