iOS 8 Released

I get 4/6 hours of screen time pretty consistently on my 6. I think I'll stay on 8.0.2 if battery life is that bad.

Remember, it's a beta version. So any battery life problems can be worked out by the time the GM rolls out.

I get that. Hence why I'll stay on what I'm on. My 5s was on a beta the whole time I had it so it's nice to not have to plug in all the time. I'll wait for the GM version.

Running 8.1 Beta 2 for a few days now and I don't notice many changes. It feels a tad bit snappier when opening apps and going through menu's but that's about it. It's still just as buggy and crash-prone as 8.0.2 and battery life is just as awful. I can watch it fall from 60% to 40% in almost 20 minutes sometimes. Sometimes it will drop 3-5% at a time. I really wish Apple was still signing 7.1.2.

I wonder if your battery is bad I'm on iOS 8.0.2 on my 5c and my battery even with heavy usage doesn't drop from 60 to 40 within 20 minutes. To be honest it seems better than when I was on iOS 7 Edited by Steven800

My battery life was terrible on my 6. It would get red hot and drop a few percent a minute if doing something heavy like video or a big game. I took it to Apple yesterday and got a new phone from them. He did a diagnostic and said he's never seen so many corrupt system files causing crashes ever. Guess I had a lemon. Battery seems a little better now. I lost 30% while sleeping for 6 hours, but I saw that "photos" was at 70% with background activity. Probably just finishing up the sync process.

This yearly hardware cycle is killing the quality of iOS - it's so hard for the devs to keep up the breakneck pace.

That explains that. I was wondering why your battery life sucked lol....
