When son mentions devices (net alliance/CCA deals) could he also be talking about the bright star acquisition? I get the feeling that Tmo will start losing steam with recent changes and that Son is starting to put all the pieces together...

 

Net alliance, CCA, dish deal, network vision and possible Tmo buyout....that's a lot on the plate.... But I like the fact that sprint isn't standing still. I love how Mass wants to fight.

Economy of scales is a huge advantage for any entity.

Is Sprint going to support band 13? Or will the LTEiRA partners going to deploy LTE on another band that Sprint could use? Those carriers are using Verizon spectrum so wouldn't Verizon have some say in what they do with it?

LTEiRA participants cannot participate in the Sprint program due to exclusivity clauses in the deal. And C Spire Wireless does not offer/sell service in Georgia. It does, however, sell and operate service in Memphis, Mobile, and Pensacola.

That seems likely.

Nothstine said Bluegrass is evaluating Sprint's new program but hasn't made any decisions about whether it will participate.

I imagine that Bluegrass and other LTEiRA cannot offer roaming on the Band 13 LTE network that they've built out due to an exclusivity agreement with VZW. However, reading into what the executive from Bluegrass said, they seem to be able to participate in agreements with another carrier or consortium if they so choose.

I really hope they do bluegrass has ridiculous coverage in Kentucky and would help sprint on coverage so much needed in a lot of areas. I hope something really comes of it. I was looking into the spectrum maps and bluegrass has their own 700mhz holdings.

 

I'm not sure if some of the area if southernlinc has 800mhz in my area or not still trying to figure out if in beta 52 if sprint owns enough here for a 5×5lte carrier?

Looking at the coverage area for SRT, I can understand why the rumor is that Sprint will build out in ND along I94 to the west, but not really expand in the north, by going west down HWY 2. SRT has solid coverage in the north starting near Rugby ND going west all the way into western MT before it stops. If I were Sprint, I would only try to build out in ND and MT to areas that SRT isn't already covering. If you have a partner willing to provide native type coverage, then best to target your expansion to areas where you both are relying on VZW for roaming.

This is sort of what I was wondering.  I figured verizon wouldnt let them share verizon specctrum.  What I wonder is if there agreement with verizon will let them build out sprint spectrum in the same area.

The way I read it, and this isn't solid so that's why I say rumor, is that they are going for solid coverage along I29 in ND and SD, along I94 across ND into MT, plus coverage running north from Bismarck to Minot (US83) and from Dickinson up to Williston (US85). But they aren't going to go west along US2 very far from Grand Forks. My guess is that lack of buildout along US 2 is because it would simply duplicate SRT's coverage area.

You can see SRT has very solid coverage of the area along US2 from Rugby ND to Dodson MT, and north to the border. That's why I say Sprint SHOULD build from east to west along the southern edge of their coverage.

Yes, I believe they are. As I was compiling the list I was checking various details against a few different websites. I don't believe I saw GSM on any of them. There are very few GSM regionals, which was kind of a surprise.

Most were swallowed up by AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

There's already ten carriers signed up for the hub iirc. USCC is a given considering they were the ones actually testing the hub with Sprint. Cspire is likely considering the rumored existing roaming agreement with them. Shentel... Ntelos... and smaller carriers I assume. 

 

I guess they're just finalizing negotiations for money and all that jazz with the lawyers. Nothing technically stops them from opening up reciprocal roaming right now.
