I would so totally like your comments, but can't. You have got to change that.

So great to see another city added. Is it just coincidence that it looks like Sprint is following at&t's lte roadmap?

You know, I hadn't given that much thought. But I do see some correlations now that you mention it.

Cannot wait to see what you found out.

Hey, when Sprint says that Dallas is on the list, does that include the whole Metroplex including Fort Worrh?

I'm not 100% certain. I hope to get NV deployment information for all markets, like we received for Chicago.

That being said, the Dallas market for Sprint is actually called the DFW market. And given that the Sprint Chicago market's NV conversion included every single site in the market, I am assuming the same is true for all Sprint markets. Even the DFW Sprint market.

Although I cannot say with absolute certainty that Ft. Worth is included in the Sprint NV Deployment for Dallas, I would be willing to put a lot of money down on a bet if Vegas Casinos were putting odds on it!!!

I understand Sprint focusing on the large markets to get the most population covered the quickest. And while not looking for leaks, does it look like any medium small markets are on your list at all? Or is 2012 going to be a big city only year?

Forget Vegas casinos, Pahrump needs more money, so bet in our casinos. Haha.

I can hardly wait to hear the next on the list.

There are going to be many secondary, tertiary and rural communities that deployment will start in 2012. Sprint has their native coverage area broken into 97 markets. Each market covers a geographic area.

The Chicago Sprint market goes from Downtown Chicago, north to the Wisconsin border, west to only 30 miles short of the Iowa border, south to Kankakee and east to Michigan City, Indiana. There are more than a million people in this market outside of Chicago and its suburbs. This is going to repeated in every one of the 97 markets, lots of peripheral communities will be brought into the fold.

But even beyond these peripheral communities of large primary cities. There are some secondary markets that will include 2012 deployment starts. I will say that the ones that will start before mid year are mostly mega markets, though.

Thanks for the info. I guess I still living in the past and thinking like the old wimax rollout. Where a city was just that. Basically just the downtown locations.

Need to get my mind in the "area" mode, intstead of the old "location" mode.

Network Vision deployment will be very different than WiMax deployment. WiMax was by Clearwire, and they didn't care at all about Sprint's markets. And they never had any intention of going live on every single tower the way Sprint is doing with Network Vision.

Clearwire had to do their own tower spacing and set up their own sites because of the propagation differences between 2500 and 1900. So, their footprint ended up being completely independent of Sprint's coverage. So they pretty much completely did their own thing. And then that got even more chaotic with the WiMax Protection Sites. It seemed virtually no thought was given to where those things went.

The NV image of the overlap between WiMax and LTE scares me. It looks like not that many people living in WiMax areas will get LTE at first, and I live in one of those areas. Ahhh

Loving the updates.

just to be sure im on same page though here. When you list them under "Deployment Underway" that would mean they are actually working on it already or it could just start anytime before mid year? I ask b/c of the last one "D.C." as in the article you listed it as starting before mid year, yet listed it in "Deployment Underway" instead of with Boston in "Deployment to Begin in 2012."

just wondering the criteria or if i missed something.

im not meaning to be nitpicky here btw. love the stuff!!

Would be nice. I would really like to hear about some non-wimax areas getting LTE this year.

Yes. We are doing another release tonight. I'm at a concert. But my wife is driving home and I will grab my tablet and do a live chat from I-25 on the way home. Stay tuned. Should be around 10:30 pm MST.
