Samsung SPH-L500 hits the FCC

I'll be looking for a new phone for my mother-in-law soon since she's eligible for an upgrade. I'd like to get her off her Replenish as soon as possible!!! I'd also like her to have an all touchscreen phone, but she'll probably want a keyboard, which leaves the Mach or Photon Q. Both are kinda "meh" to me, but as long as they're reliable, good phones it'll be fine for her. She does little more than Facebook and check her email on her phone.

The successor to the SPH-L500 has been tested on cloud4sites.com's mtest page.

 

The SPH-L520, located here, has Android 4.2.2 Build JDQ39 on board. Could this be the Galaxy S4 mini on Sprint?

We never even determined what the L500 was did we?

Nope. And we may never know what it is. We will just have to wait and see. Maybe Sprint decided a tri-band version was better*?

 

The Galaxy Nexus was L700, the Galaxy S 3 was L710, and the Galaxy S 4 was L720. This time they skipped from L500 to L520. Strange, but the mystery is exciting.

No, because cloud4sites' mtest proved it was android. And I believe the FCC docs had Android listed in them. (Can't remember for sure since its been a while.)

Has a Qualcomm MSM8960 with a max CPU frequency of 1728MHz, Android 4.2.2, and a screen resolution of 960 x 540. Listing shows 1920 x 1080 screen resolution and an Adreno 305.

Well, thanks to the 180 day temporary stay on specific documents, the SPH-L500 is for Virgin Mobile. Internal photos show it has a microSD slot & SIM Card slot.
