boomerbubba
I was just driving in Rockledge and noticed that I was on 4G. Oddly, the tower is about 4 blocks west of my house, but I cannot get 4G (I can see the tower from my backyard). I actually lost the signal after driving one block east of the tower. However, I drove about 1 mile south and did have 4G the entire time. I lost it when my phone grabbed the signal from the next tower to the south. The map shows the route that I was driving. What makes you sure there is a Sprint tower where you think it is? Even if you knew that, how do you know which tower was providing a 4G signal? The first thing you should do is become an S4GRU sponsor to gain access to the actual Sprint tower maps. Then go looking for the actual site hosting the LTE signal. It may be further away than you think.

boomerbubba
Hmmm...you are welcome to do what you would like with the information that I shared. I'm just trying to help. A common error among new users around here is to assume mistakenly that they know where their connections -- especially 4G connections -- are coming from. If you don't want help, go your own way in peace.

Just map it on sensorly so we can get a look at where the area is. Other than that welcome new members until they can get thier feet wet, then we can attack them

However, it did come off as less of an education and more of an attack. Anyway, the point was that LTE is active in this area...regardless of where the tower is. All I was trying to do was share that information here, where I thought that it would be appreciated.

No harm no foul..good to have you onboard..Did you get a chance to run sensorly? If you don't have it make sure you get it from the Market, see a signal? run the app.

Feech
The could have been testing when you passed the first time..Make sure you flip your phone into airplane mode and then back to LTE just in case when you are searching
Wildman
A giant update just happened on sensorly for cocoa. That was me. Great day for a motorcycle ride. Here are pics from that site, which can be seen at http://bit.ly/Up94sm. http://www.rdcd.org/...co_S4GRU_1A.jpg http://www.rdcd.org/...oco_S4GRU_1.jpg http://www.rdcd.org/...oco_S4GRU_2.jpg http://www.rdcd.org/S4GRU/Cocoa_Lower_Bottom.jpg http://www.rdcd.org/S4GRU/Cocoa_Middle.jpg http://www.rdcd.org/S4GRU/Cocoa_Top.jpg The closest location to the tower is not off Clearlake Road, but right smack dab in a mobile home park, that appears to have been around for some time (and that's all I will say about that). Seeing the RRUs on this one helped me to get a good idea on what to look for and maybe some differences from what AT&T is doing as they appear to be doing a lot of work in the Tampa area as I see their crews quite a bit. It is worth noting that on my drive back to the Tampa area that I saw work on a tower, about 3 miles east of exit 44 on I-4 (mapped here at http://bit.ly/YfBpGG Hoping its Sprint as the other arrays already appeared to be loaded down and upgraded by other carriers. There was a guy sitting on the array with the least amount antennas on it like it was a chair working. I wanted to go over but couldn't see a place I could get close. Maybe next time I make an I-4 run it would have some activity...

UCFKnight
Well, no LTE coverage discovered in the Orlando or East Orange County area yet, but there were a number of 2G and 3G points newly discovered.
