I hope you also have access to the SAC bunker.  Otherwise, being so close to Offutt AFB, once you push that button, you are going to be dead soon.

Technically speaking you have to go to the StratCom (SAC successor) bunker to answer the red telephone and push the button so I think I'm covered.

Yes, S4GRU supports SETIH -- the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Hopefully -- because there is definitely no intelligence on this staff.

Now if I start to hear you say "the devil made me do it" and "sock it to me" I'm gonna think you warped back in time and need to see the guys that have the funny long sleeve jackets. Check you into the rubber room motel.

Please join me in congratulating Trip in joining the Staff here at S4GRU. He has been a very helpful member and his expertise and tireless efforts tracking and plotting the wireless industry are nearly unequalled.  He will be right at home among the wireless geeks in the Hallowed Virtual Halls here at S4GRU.

Now he will have full moderator powers and responsibilities as well.  Welcome to THE ZOO!

:thx:

Call me nuts, but I think I saw this coming. This dood is intense wireless. I enjoy seeing your work, it is very thorough and excellent reading to say the least.

Congratulations and thank you for your time, folks with your level of skill that volunteer are plain awesome. So much great insight as well. Keep sharing :)

In celebration, we all should go Tripping...

As an aside, "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" is an all around great album -- for various reasons, on numerous levels.

:welcome:

It's been 4-1/2 years, but I am happy to announce we have a new member joining S4GRU Staff.  Please join me in welcoming RAvirani in joining the Staff here at S4GRU. Rey has been a key member helping visitors to S4GRU for years.  We are grateful to have him join the ranks.  It feels like he has been a part of the team for quite some time.  Seems fitting and overdue.

Thanks Rey for accepting the invitation.  You must be a little crazy to agree!  :frantic:

Now @RAvirani will have full moderator powers and responsibilities as well.  Welcome aboard!

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
