Congrats, Coz. The staff here is awesome. It really is the difference between any other message board on the internet and this family of wireless enthusiasts.

Please join me in congratulating AJ in his promotion to S4GRU Technical Editor.  Accolades are his only payment, as all our Staff positions are unpaid volunteers.

Thank you AJ for your thousands of hours invested in making S4GRU such an acclaimed resource.  Your technical expertise and persistent pursuit for greater wireless knowledge have benefited our community beyond measure!

:thx:

As I have had the title for two weeks now, I guess this means that I passed the trial period.  Hot damn and hallelujah!

How does someone become one of these staff members and what is the pay scale, did you get a raise? ;)

Will you stop teasing the new recruits AJ.

We do get raises. Robert actually gave us all a 10% raise just a few days ago.

0 x 10% = 0

Oh wait, there is no number before that zero.

Craig did not make it past the first interview for the tech editor position.  But we did offer him an unpaid internship.

As bathroom attendant.  "Hey Craig, you missed a piss puddle there!  Right there!  Under your right pant leg!!!"

Hey Robert, when you get a chance, download the proshot app into your windows phone while it is still free. Since no one gets paid anyway.

I just sold it to my son for $125.

Did Joey know that Windows Phone had been "flagged" for being in the bathroom?

Please join me in congratulating Mr.Nuke in his promotion to a Full S4GRU Moderator. Mr.Nuke has been tirelessly working on our B26 Reporting Project and doing some backup moderating for S4GRU.

Now he will have full moderator powers and responsibilities as well. Thanks Seth for all you do for the S4GRU Community. Your contributions are noticeable and integral with our mission, and will be appreciated by S4GRU and our members for a long, long time.

:thx:

If Mr.Nuke has "full moderator powers," does that mean he now gets to answer the red telephone, has access to the launch codes, and gets to put his finger on the doomsday button?  God help us all.

I hope you also have access to the SAC bunker.  Otherwise, being so close to Offutt AFB, once you push that button, you are going to be dead soon.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
