Where I am able to get LTE here in San Antonio it has been amazingly fast. I am impressed. I know that Sprint still has a long way to go here in SA, but now that I can actually see the progress. It gives me renewed patience to wait for the completion. I know it wont be much longer. And until NV is complete I can play with whatever LTE is available or use WIFI. Im feeling much better about this NV now. Go Sprint!

Here in Olathe, KS the 4G was discoverable for about the last 3 days. I believe it was being throttled; and this morning as Sprint promised it was unleashed. On my wife's HTC EVO LTE I am seeing download speeds of 12 to 15 mbps, and upload of 8 to 15 with only 2 to 3 bars of service. It's pretty amazing. I threw a YouTube 1080p video at it for fun, and it didn't buffer once. I have tested the 3G speeds on my EVO 4G, and they are not that impressive yet, as I think they are still updating CDMA. I am seeing 1 to 1.5 mbps down and about .5 up. Sprint has truly taken a huge step in the right direction, and I have faith things will get a lot better for the company.

Love the video!!! I can't wait to see the new commercials. I wonder if the Sprint marketing team will attack the new Verizon shared everything data plans.

Drove all around the east side of Houston and could not find an LTE connection, although the 3G signals in a lot more area was faster

Well yet again, Sprint has over promised and under delivered.

What a non event this has turned out to be.

I live on the NW side 249 & Louetta rd. Drove to Willowbrook, 1960 & 45 and back to the house the length of Louetta. No 4G anywhere. From the reports on the various fourms, I am not alone.

Some launch.

Oh, and 3G is the same crappy 50kbps I have been stuck with for months. No improvement there either. Can't even stream a radio station on TuneIn.

What is it I am paying for Sprint?

How did sprint over promise and under deliver? Do you expect everything to go smoothly at the flip of a switch? This is a work in progress and things are in the process of getting better.

I expected at least SOME meaningful LTE coverage to be available as of July 15th. That was a clear promise not kept. From the testing done so far and reported all over the internet, and as experienced by ME, there is FAR less than 40% coverage of the Houston market. Less than 10% is more like it. I am less than 1/4 mile from one of the towers you show as being live. No LTE.

I will be traveling the city all over the west side today, really hope to see better news.

Yes, I did expect the new service to at least work on launch day in most areas. Very few folks have reported ANY connections that actually work and stay connected.

Over promised and under delivered. Just look at the coverage map presented TODAY on the Sprint website. That is a clear indication of promise made and is nowhere near real. Quit making excuses for them. Its plain and simple that they missed the promised launch.

I drove down the west side this morning. 249@ Louetta to I10 @ Kirkwood and through most of the energy corridor.

Not a single instance of LTE service and I checked at every stop light driving down eldridge and along I10 from Hwy 6 to Kirkwood.

This is not 40% coverage. Its not 10% coverage.

Something is VERY wrong with the network or the EVO and S3 devices in service. The sooner Sprint admits there is a problem, the sooner we can get it working. Denial just prolongs the problem.

I will do my part and stop by a Corporate repair center in an LTE area this afternoon and report the network diffeculty. I expect the usual 'nothing wrong' and 'we have no way to test' response.

I agree. The ACTUAL coverage at launch day is no where near (at least in Houston) what the Sprint's message, the maps, or the tower positon graphics would have you believe. No doubt that Sprint will get there...and we are all very excited about the longer term possibility and yes, LTE connect "sightings" are increasing - but they simply shouldn't over-sell their launch and set false expectations as they did for July 15th/16th, not just in my market but in others as well.

seriously I expect more from people on a site that allows you to see every tower that is finished. We are the educated people, and should act like it. If you are not getting LTE, you should check to make sure that you have the update for your phone, as that seems to be the biggest problem. As for coverage, they didn't say that it would cover 40% of all the places that you personally go, just that 40% of the towers are live. They never said that they were going to have 100% complete, and if they would have waited, everyone would have been complaining "why won't they let us use the towers that are active!" ... when they are done in a few months, come back and let us know if there are still problems.

I think those of us who live in Houston have reason to be disappointed. According to this site, I'm surrounded by completed towers here in East Downtown Houston. Yes, my Evo LTE has the latest updates..got the most recent HTC update on the 14th. I think Spikerjack and jcthorne are on to something. Is anyone actually in Houston experiencing LTE? INSIDE the Beltway? Inside the Loop? Bueller?

According to the map I'm saturated with 4GLTE signal in Cumming a north Atlanta market. It sometimes has come on but reverts back to 3G in seconds. I've updated my prl multiple times to no effect. It's still not fully baked here in the Atlanta market.

i've been getting a bit of off and on connection in the townhouses on commerce in eado.

saturday saw 2237 - 4464kbps down and 735 - 2407kbps up

ran a speedtest on sunday and it was 768kbps down 228kbps up. =O

then it switched back to evdo and up and down basically swapped with their lte counterparts to 336kbps down and 744kbps up.

i thought verizon and att speeds were like in the tens of thousands and sprint was using even newer/faster lte-advanced or some bolonga?

i hope our service gets WAY better than this but of course that was the running hope that this lte network was supposed to address. i was almost expecting it to be close to as good as it's going to get from the get-go because more people eventually buy the new devices and start using the network over time. all i have to do is look at sprint's current state of 3g at peak usage times (~10kpbs nonsense) and remember how much faster my old htc hero could zip around on those waves a few years ago.

I believe a lot of the issue is related to device LTE signal thresholds. It will not connect to LTE unless there is a good signal. Also, devices will not stay connected to mediocre or weak LTE signals. However, mediocre and weak LTE signals perform much better than even full signal 3G EVDO.

Sprint should get with Samsung, HTC and LG right away to adjust these thresholds where you bump down to EVDO so we can get and keep lower level LTE signals. Until that happens, we will likely suffer from connectivity issues until more coverage starts to envelop launched markets.

Yes, the educated folks should recognize when there is a fundemental problem with a new system that is NOT working as designed.

No one is getting reliable LTE communications anywhere and very few are getting any connection at all. With 40% of the towers in service the reports should be showing MUCH better availability than this. The LTE rollout is NOT working. The sooner its admitted, the sooner a solution to the problem at hand can be found.

I have a latest gen device, fully updated and its not connecting over a wide swath of the coverage area tested. This is true for most users reporting in. What few are connecting are not keeping the connection even when stationary.

HOUSTON, THERE IS A PROBLEM.

It may indeed be the handsets. If so, fine but figure it out and lets get it fixed.

I'm in EaDo Houston on Capital St... I had a brief 4G indicator when I was outside this morning. It was quickly gone before I could successfully use it.

Got 4G signal this morning near 1-75 & Wade Green in Kennesaw this morning, and ookla measured 20.2M down/ 3.8M up. Didn't hang on for long though, and it was on & off on my drive down 75. No consistent 4G in my office in Sandy Springs, but got 1.3M/655K on 3G a few minutes ago.
