Seeing as I just got my Pixel 2 XL today, it'll be a couple years before I upgrade again.  By that time, the tech for screen fingerprint reader will be in all the phones.

If Google and Sammy can ever get together on the "Google Play Edition" phones again, I'd buy a Note with AOSP in a heart beat.

Oh yes I do not disagree with you that would be absolutely fantastic. I love AOSP it's absolutely amazing compared to the lockdown stuff that we have.

Isn't that the same size as Note 8?

S9 S9+ reported into the FCC

A new Samsung tablet certified for Sprint (and others) went through the FCC a few days ago..

      Category 6 UE
      LTE Bands 2-4-5-12-25-26-41
Carrier Aggregation capable for Downlink operations. 2xCA B41

Looks to be one of the bigger flagship tablets (~10" ?) and will be the 11th 2xB41 CA capable device to come to Sprint.

Try to make this as short and simple as possible. I have three devices; 2 of which are on the same plan and the third on a separate plan.

The third device is my tab 4 which is picking up SprintB41 site 310120 just great. I get 3 bars downstairs.

My other two devices; Galaxy Note 4 & Galaxy Note Edge for some reason will not pick up this tower. I have tried PRL updates, Profile updates, restarted the phones and all I can get them to connect to is a ClearwireB41 site.

More background info...all devices have same Sim card as when purchased, tablet stays off 3/4 of the day and my phones are on when I wake up and turn them off at night. No matter where I go inside or out my phones won't connect to the Sprint site.

Anybody have any ideas before I call Sprint trying to figure something out? I'm not sure how long the tablet has been able to connect to this site so I'm not sure what to think of it besides agitated that the tablet of all things is connecting. I posted two photos; one of the tablet connected to the Sprint site; second of the Clear wire site my phones connect to.

      Thanks in advance.

Samsung Network Vision equipment are highly distinct and fairly easy to spot compared to the equipment that other vendors are deploying. Sprint is Samsung's first extremely massive American contract (baring Clearwire) so there  should be no issues in confusing these equipment for another carrier which happens often with Ericsson NV equipment.

Below are images of Samsung equipment which includes antennas, remote radio units, base stations, and their mounting configurations.

So I have had the chance to play around with the Tab 4(Wi-fi) only model, and Like how much smoother it is than the Tab 3 series. Now What are some of your favorite features About the device? Hopefully sprint will announce one with Tri-band support. I will Grab one when they come out if they do!
I believe the Tab 4 on Sprint will have Triband, as the Verizon has 3 band LTE support and At&t version have 4 bands I believe.

Also if you are looking for a Tab 4 Wifi only version, Check Target out, it has a Cartwheel coupon for 10% off a Tab 4, plus 20% off a Tab 3. And I want to say a coupon off Other Samsung Accessories!

    • I started working on the Raspberry Pi 3b Plus tonight with an Sierra Wireless em7565. This one has all those cool features that I was describing up top. Not bad for ~39 bucks. I was waiting for a few open source firmwares to get through the compilebot6k's toobs; this one is built now. Some use modem manager or openWRT for the router side. This LTE radio is band(s) 2/26/41 capable on the Sprint side. Band 25 did not make the cut, but was on previous Sierra builds. This is a tester radio so there is a slight chance it will appear down the road. It has just about every other LTE band.

This is an example of the debug screen. GMO is nearest so we only get 26 from a far site. No 41 in our zip yet.
The best part is I can plug an MC7455(that would be Modem#2) or another EM7565 in and it can hop over to that or I can direct load balancing. I just wanted to show the EM7565 authenticated below. Another shot of my terrible reception. Here it is out of the armor.

So, we have a stable software image. I will get it built and add some GPS features, then test on band 41 in Myrtle where present. We have one site w 8t8r gear to test 3xCA on, so it might be a minute. I am in 2xCA MM areas through the week. I will see how it likes the Magic box too.

I should have a true GB ethernet router to massacre in the next couple of weeks with software images already set to go. I can embed the radio beyond a USB adapter. It still requires m.2>mPCIe but that is one less failure point and better throughput. This was a great breakthrough in affordable and small solutions for us.  I have to go to bed and then work now.

      Have a great week everyone.
    • Thank you so much for bringing light to this! I would have never known about it had you not posted it! You've saved me a lot of money and lowered my bill moving forward! It wasn't an easy process, but well worth it. Unlocking the phones was surprisingly easy. But the small hiccup came with my final bill. When I received it, I thought I was screwed when I saw that the ETF was included. I almost paid for it too, but the frugal in me decided to call Sprint (couldn't hurt, right?). After an hour on the phone with a US supervisor, my account was credited for the full amount of the ETFs. I walked away Scot-free!! Thanks a bunch OP! I'm trying Verizon's throttled unlimited data plan. Excellent reliability in the city, but there are certain key spots where I need my phone that aren't great. I don't know if it's the throttling or the network.
    • I see more mass upgrades by TMO on 600mhz -- it seems they did an amazing and fast roll out. If I recall folks here thougt TMO wouldn't be able to see much strides for a year plus.

Reason I bring it up is TMO can't have much more free cash than Sprint. Yet can operate fast and lean.

Positive note Sprint has rocked it's upgrades this past year...
