I’m not seeing no calling plus after the update.

Luckily for me I didn’t have crashing issues updating my X this morning.

You lucked out! It was unbelievable. Our devices were sitting there charging and they literally started crashing over and over with the charge plug sound.

Seems like apps with local notifications were the cause.

Apple Support (and perhaps Sprint Support) is going to be swamped about this.

I guess the upside is that everyone affected will need to update to iOS 11.2 and they’ll have the latest carrier/baseband.

I was REALLY hoping and thinking that Calling Plus would be enabled with 11.2.  Damn.  👎

Yeah: I think that VCC is as far as we’ll get on iOS until the switch is flipped for VoLTE. With VoLTE launching next year most likely, it probably doesn’t make sense to build it for iOS.

Also, it’s possible that Apple doesn’t want Calling Plus and is telling Sprint to come back when VoLTE is available.

Seems an exception for “Calling Plus” was made for the Apple Watch LTE, which appears to do VoIP for Voice... but for the iPhone, it’s a no-go.

I added the TEP Plus to my plan. Does anyone know if this is the one with Apple Care tied to it? It was the only insurance that I saw.

Is Wi-Fi Calling not working properly for anyone else here since updating to iOS 11.2?

Updated to 11.2.  Now see that the Carrier updated to 31.0.

Ditto

What do we gain by having 31.0?

Not sure about 31.0.  I hope it helps with band prioritization.  I am having issues with the X locking onto B25 first when it is slow.

11.2, I do see Apple Pay Cash in Wallet for sending/receiving payments through Messages.

Sprint says they’ve been able to reproduce the WiFi Calling Issue on iOS 11.2:

It's quite sporadic for me. Part of the day it works, and even that is hit and miss. And I'm on the 7 Plus.

I’m having problems too. It doesn’t even seem to work great with text messaging.

It's certainly a weird and wacky issue, that's for sure.

Apparently a backend fix was implemented last night to resolve this issue. Should be working properly now.

Weird. I turned it back on and it's not working at all for me at the moment.

Update: I did a service update, and it's back up and running.

This WiFi Calling Issue is a real thing. It’s affecting me and another line as well... and perhaps others on our plan.

I’ll bet we get an updated Carrier Bundle very soon to rollback some changes they made.

Hopefully soon. Although since 11.2, my phone has a harder time staying connected to my WiFi Connect router in right outside my bedroom than it used to. It appears whatever is affecting WiFi Calling has affected my WiFi in general.

Sprint just dropped Carrier Update 31.1 for iOS.

Hopefully it fixes the WiFi Calling Issue.

    • You need B26 for VOLTE both for coverage and capacity. B41 as it is configured right now is great for cruising the net and downloading. Not great for symmetric traffic like voice. Well, when I am talking to my wife, it is highly asymmetric but that's neither here nor there😂.
    • I was on I-68 Sunday and did not notice any new Sprint Coverage.  Some 1x was there, no Sprint LTE.  The 1X was well below the standards we would expect and I really did not see any improvement yet. However, as I write this, I am thinking that the US Cellular LTE might have been showing on SCP and I may not have realized that Sprint 1x was available in previously uncovered locations.
    • KDDI in Japan still has their CDMA network. Verizon is tired of paying Qualcomm royalties on top of paying Billions of dollars for Qualcomm equipment.
    • I was in Cumberland, Md and Deep Creek , Md on Sunday.  Only had Sprint 1x and the coverage on that was not good.  However, I did have LTE coverage on US Cellular. It was OK, not fantastic, but ok.  Not everywhere but it was where you needed it.  Was on US Cellular EVDO and 1x at times too.   It was great that Sprint allows use of US Cellular facilities while they upgrade their network. Allegany and Garrett counties were ignored by Sprint for many many years. Now that they have turned that area over to Shentel we are going to see the service greatly improved.  Sprint finally did the right thing. If they could not provide service in the area themselves, turn it over to somebody that can and will. Shentel WILL fix it and soon. I did note that when driving into the area from Hagerstown, my phone resisted connecting to US Cellular LTE until I started trying to figure out why. I think it might have been the Airplane mode on/off action I took that seemed to wake up US Cellular LTE.  Once it connected one time, then I was good all day.
    • There are clearly some issues with that map, but you're right, western MD does look good and like they're planning to cover it well.  Looking at the current Sprint coverage map in voice view, it looks like two or three new sites might be up and running already along I-68.  (If not, then they might be coming very soon.) - Trip
