All indications are NO at this point. Maybe a similar device, but Motorola and Sprint are saying no in regards to the Moto X

 

Well that stinks..  Hope they can work something out might have to look at another provider..

This could very well be the beginning of sprint lining up with its rural partners, allowing devices to be moved freely between them. In return sprint lets them have a few exclusive phone launches.

This would be so cool! This needs to happen.

Would this be something that Motorola would agree to and sales requirements put on Sprint's group to make feasible from their side?

Just saw an interview with Sprint's CEO talking about his vision and plans for the company's future. Talked passionately about the new iPhones and their new $50 plans exclusive for it. After watching I couldn't help but think that even though Motorola has a Moto X Sprint-capable model, the company choose not to carry it among their devices to protect iPhone sales. Remember when Sprint got the iPhone and pledged to sell a bunch of millions of iPhone as part of the deal?

 

Will we ever know?

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but are we 100% sure Sprint won't get the new X? Maybe itll just be an exclusive launch for AT&T like the last one was? Otherwise I think I will order an E8

 

Not 100% sure.  It could be a carrier exclusive initially.  Or Sprint could get a different Moto device.   Or Sprint could be just angling for the Nexus X (or whatever it's called).  We just know a Motorola and Sprint source have said that Sprint will not get the Moto X.  There is likely more happening with this story.

So maybe I'll hold off a little longer ... My EVO LTE lasted this long. What's a little longer??

Well, it's not just for ATT. VZW launched it yesterday.

 

Sprint is likely getting a different device.

could it be that there will be 2 nexus devices, the 5.9" that everyone has basically seen now. and one based directly on the Moto X using the XT 1092 model number.

I think it is looking rather grim...  USCC has the Moto X up for sale online, and I am pretty sure they are using the XT 1092 model since no others include B12.

Yeah, the Moto X is a different phone though.  The new Nexus has not gone through the FCC, yet.

Yeah, I know.  I meant it doesn't look like the XT 1092 model is the new Nexus as someone had hoped before.

So I stopped by Verizon while at the mall and checked out the moto x. Wow the device is slim and light do like feels great in hand. The screen is maybe a lil too saturated after seeing it in person. The colors are very vibrant and unnatural. But beautiful device. REALLY!

According the U.S. Cellular user manual: they appear to be using model number XT1093/XT1094. 

 

Must be some kind of XT1092 variant? Maybe one of our experts can help us: do variants like this go through the FCC? Or do they just get mentioned in the original models documents? Maybe we can find out what this model supports band wise...

      Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.

      Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.

      Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
