I wonder what the future of Sprint TV is. It doesn’t seem to be getting any attention at all. Perhaps they’ll shut it down entirely after the HULU Live Upgrade is available for Sprint customers.

Ohio is  mostly covered even in the archaic map [emoji38] .  I remember when I got Sprint, there was no native coverage to my east.  My home site was the edge of Sprint's footprint in the mid 2000's.  The roaming was probably alltel.  Alltel built out here several years before the others.  Some of the towers have been around so long that they're painted red and white (still).  And yet a strobe was installed atop the local tower anyway once Verizon took over.  I guess they want to make absolutely sure planes don't crash into it.  

If only Sprint has bought Alltel.

I wonder if they had trouble getting another spectrum lease co offering to market. Why would they go for the higher interest rate of loan not back by asserts?

My understanding is that Sprint is doing limited testing for VoLTE on iOS devices in certain markets. It’s not actually Calling Plus. iOS devices are not getting Calling Plus, but instead making the jump directly to VoLTE when it launches this Fall.

That’s a good question. Perhaps Sprint feels it can get a better rate on the open market now vs later. The Spectrum Lease Co seems like it can be done at a later time with more flexibility.

Looking at Sprint’s debt schedule (maturity dates) and its liquidity (on Page 17), things seem like they’ll get busy in the coming 1-2 years. Perhaps Spectrum Co Lease would be used as a supplement then?

So I’m guessing this is a loan they’ll have to pay back but under more favorable interest? I hope this 1.5b going towards the network. Each day Sprint kinda makes me nervous cause so much is riding on them his year. Failing to make commitment is not even an option.

They already announced they are raising CapEx and the network is a priority....did I miss anything else?

It's bonds that will have set payment schedules and maturity dates.  My guess is they're using this debt to pay off current debt that's about to come due.  They've done it in the past.

You can see Sprint’s debt schedule, associated interest rates, and maturity dates here: http://investors.sprint.com/financials/default.aspx

Seems like they wanted lower interest debt while the rates are still good. As you can see from the schedule, Sprint has been able to get its interest rates down overall.

Sprint will probably do another Spectrum Co tranche down the road.
