About to go mapping again!

So here are the serving cells for the one site you found.

6, 175, 344

If you find another other serving cells than that you you know you have a second site active. Good luck and have fun! It is addicting to lay down the purple.

This is all that I laid down today which leads me to believe the cell site is very close to the plant I work in as that area has the best signal so I will do some searching in the coming days. I will also post an LTE engineering screenshot first thing tomorrow morning when I get to work! I'm just too elated! too bad I don't get the LTE at home... I think its time to move!

Keep an eye out in the sponsor areas for when the sites get accepted for 4g. Keep the eyes glued to the serving cell numbers in your travels as well for new ones.

Something is very weird about that mapping.  It doesn't really fit any of sites around there.  Unless this is a brand new site which I do see a site on google satellite view that could possibly fit this signal being shown.  Or maybe I'm just seeing things.  Hmm.. I will have to look into this more in the morning.

Here is the engineering screen outside the plant so my haunch is correct about the cell site being close around the plant I work in. Will post another shot once I'm in the gate.

-74 is very close!  Definitely in site.  See if you can spot a tower with a RRUs and new antennas.  Here are some pictures for reference:

Once you identify the site let us know where it is at.  I would also see if you can get on the other sectors other than 344.  344 usually means you are on the 3rd sector which in most cases means you are West to Southwest of the site.

That's it... when I clicked it earlier it showed Houston. Maybe it was a fluke... I was gonna snap a pic of it but Im too far away to get a good one as its in the neighboring plant and 4x digital zoom won't do much.

I have to say that might be getting a bit jealous. I need some LTE love baby!!

I would say your LTE love is less than a month away but then again I could be wrong... but I didn't expect to see LTE till late October at the earliest.

Yeah, with the purple popping up in our market over the last ccouple of days I'm optimistic that we'll be seeing some pretty soon.

After work I'm gonna go cruise into Beaumont and see if there are LTE signals flying around if so I will do more mapping!

There was one accepted today in Beaumont, TX along with the one I think you found in Port Arthur.  Here's the post with the info:

I posted the site ID and general location in the link a few above. Keep the site locations and IDs in the sponsor thread. Since you have the sponsor access you can view that maps of all the sites.

Do we have anyone in the Lafayette area that can do some mapping? I ask because I'm not seeing any purple on the maps...gotta get more purple on the Louisiana maps folks! ;)

Saw 2 sites being worked on off of 210 over the last couple of days. One near Ryan St., and another by Lake St.. I wasn't able to get pics, but I'll try and get some to post in the sponsor section tomorrow.

    • Unable to confirm if it's really off but I noticed this morning that I'm no longer connecting to Band 41 on my home site. Switching my phone to LTE-only pretty much always put me on Band 41 since it was the least used band on T-Mobile's network. Now I'm only able to connect to Band 2/66. Not complaining because it means speeds are faster on LTE and maybe 150MHz n41 is around the corner.

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
