timestamp="1390415326"]Im not sure if Im doing this right.

This is the tower on the corner of McClain and National road in Lima.

How can I even tell if it is a Sprint tower?

I wanna help the community but not sure how to.  :td:

IMAG0003_1.jpgHere is what your looking for, sorry I couldnt upload it here, but I circled it..

There should be two rrus ones for 1900 and the other is for 800. From what i can tell thats a in progress site. Heres a link to map of towers in Ohio http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4462-network-vision-site-map-toledo-market-separated-from-ohio-markets/

Thanks for the response keelerman!

Newbie question..... what does "There should be two rrus ones for 1900 and the other is for 800." mean.

I googled rru and figured out what that is (Im guessing what you circled in the picture).

What does the 1900 and 800 represent tho?

Edit: Disregard. I found my answer.

For anyone else that needs an explanation here is a good link:

1900 and 800 is the frequency of what is being put out. 1900 is what they are using right now for LTE, 800 cdma (voice) and 800 on LTE will also be coming soon as well. The lower the frequency the further the signal will travel and penetrate. We are also going to be getting LTE on 2500, but that's a little down the road, should help with capacity issues if/when it happens and will bring faster speeds as well.

Just received a message from sprint, telling me that within the next month network upgrades should be complete! I live in Maumee.

SprintFreeMsg: Over the next month, the new network will be largely completed in your area. See new phone offer at http://sprint.us/upgrade1 Reply S to stop.

Yea, this is a generic text that is being sent to people all over the US. Nothing to get excited over unfortunately.

Guessing could be same tower but hoping to get it mapped exactly. Because that's not far from home haha

I've been noticing alotbof speed tests that say 4G, also makes me wonder if they were testing before like in Nov, because I seen one in port clintion area like that. Maybe it didn't pass inspections or somthing. I think it's only going to get better from here on out

I picked up LTE right off of the Oregon Rd ramp but lost it as I turned on Oregon Road toward Owens. I didn't get another signal until I got on 795. Has LTE for maybe a quarter of a mile around East Broadway and managed to grab this screen shot. Was also running Sensory.

There is tower to the West of Owens on lime city road, that's prob why it was hit and miss..if I rember right when I went to Owens I was connectioning to that tower. There is also anotherone over on andrus road between Tracy and Broadway. with towers like that the cell spacing is going to be shorter so your not going to have it has far as some would think, but once the rest of them are done than it should be better. Just an fyi for you and anyone else. :tu:

    • Definite usage quirks in hunting down these sites with a rainbow sim in a s24 ultra. Fell into a hole yesterday so sent off to T-Mobile purgatory. Try my various techniques. No Dish. Get within binocular range of former Sprint colocation and can see Dish equipment. Try to manually set network and everybody but no Dish is listed.  Airplane mode, restart, turn on and off sim, still no Dish. Pull upto 200ft from site straight on with antenna.  Still no Dish. Get to manual network hunting again on phone, power off phone for two minutes. Finally see Dish in manual network selection and choose it. Great signal as expected. I still think the 15 minute rule might work but lack patience. (With Sprint years ago, while roaming on AT&T, the phone would check for Sprint about every fifteen minutes. So at highway speed you could get to about the third Sprint site before roaming would end). Using both cellmapper and signalcheck.net maps to hunt down these sites. Cellmapper response is almost immediate these days (was taking weeks many months ago).  Their idea of where a site can be is often many miles apart. Of course not the same dataset. Also different ideas as how to label a site, but sector details can match with enough data (mimo makes this hard with its many sectors). Dish was using county spacing in a flat suburban area, but is now denser in a hilly richer suburban area.  Likely density of customers makes no difference as a poorer urban area with likely more Dish customers still has country spacing of sites.
    • Mike if you need more Dish data, I have been hunting down sites in western Columbus.  So far just n70 and n71 reporting although I CA all three.
    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
