fcp_dp
My first post here, and I am loving this forum. I have learned far more about the underlying tech than I ever knew. Is there any info about the I-75 corridor upgrades. I figure Warner Robins would be near the top of the list due to the AFB. I know that in my area, some backhaul work must have been done. I went from having .7-.8 m download .5 upload at the end of last year to having 1.8-2m down and .8-1.1 up, not bad for a tower just covering I-75. This is better than any of the larger areas near me. But the Sprint network page is not showing any updates for my town. Though, when it used to show future updates, it showed mine as getting speed upgrades within 6 months. Thanks for an awesome sight. lordsutch
There has been some work in the Georgia market, as you can see in the maps in the sponsors area. The maps on Sprint's site only reflect non-Network Vision work, so it's not surprising that there's not any more work showing there. Based on the original schedule this was a 3rd Round market scheduled for completion in mid-2013; we should be seeing a lot more activity over the next few months. fcp_dp
I know I can't wait. Lol. I know I have dealt with some rough times with sprint over the last 10 years and it only looks to get better.

S4GRU
Is there any word on if Augusta, GA will get LTE i haven't heard anything and was curious if anyone on here knew at all. Yes. All the Sprint 3G sites in Augusta market will get upgraded with LTE. Work should be starting soon, if not already begun. lordsutch
For the non-sponsors, we've been starting to see some live LTE in the Georgia market. Sensorly shows live coverage southwest of Auburn (in Alabama, but in the Georgia market) and I mapped live coverage outside of Albany yesterday. There may also be a live site on the NW side of Dublin. LTE marches on! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
JimBob
I just spent the July 4 holiday+weekend on a secluded farm in Thomson, GA. Impressively, 3G data connection was good at around 1Mbps download. Call reception was passable.
kn4ds
Sensorly map also shows 4G along I-475 and Eisenhower Parkway on the west side of Macon. I haven't been up there, so it wasn't me that mapped it. Still nothing here in Warner Robins/Houston County, but a local provider says they have completed fiber to all Sprint sites within their footprint. Still nothing here in Warner Robins/Houston County, but a local provider says they have completed fiber to all Sprint sites within their footprint. I mapped it Monday and Tuesday; it also carries a bit more to the east than shown on the map (east of Bloomfield Road), but Sensorly didn't record that coverage since I wedged the phone in LTE-only mode, and Sensorly refuses to record in that mode. No sign of 800 1X coverage yet though. As for Warner Robins, I expect that whenever they get around to climbing the remaining towers* those will go live with 4G (and maybe even 800), while they'll hold off on switching on 4G at the other sites until they decide to switch all the 3G sites over to NV to save driving to the site multiple times. I count 6 remaining Houston County non-GMO towers based on my visual checks: Perry on US 41 by South Perry Pkwy Elberta Rd at Houston Rd Dunbar Rd at Houston Lake Blvd Carl Vinson Pkwy at the curve south of Watson Blvd The water tower off Pleasant Hill Rd south of Watson Blvd Feagin Mill Road tower between Houston Lake Blvd and Lake Joy Road AFAIK the only tower in the area that has had tower work done but isn't accepted is the one SE of Payne City; RRUs have been up on that site for several weeks now. It may be the next one in the area to go 4G live since the RRUs on the tower by M(G)SC had been up for weeks before finally going 4G live last week.
sniickers
Just got 4g today in dry branch, ga off of hwy 16 near i75 all the way up to hwy 247.
lordsutch
Just got 4g today in dry branch, ga off of hwy 16 near i75 all the way up to hwy 247. Nice catch; looks like the site in the Ocmulgee East Industrial Park is now live. Strange I didn't catch it yesterday on my drive back from Dublin. EDIT: It appears it may have just been in testing mode briefly on Saturday; the site wasn't accepting connections yesterday (July 15th), even sitting right on the tower (after cycling airplane mode, I'd get a brief LTE indication and then get kicked immediately to 1xRTT). The only previously unmapped site in the area that seems to be accepting LTE connections is the one in Eatonton.
kn4ds
How's the 4G speed in Macon? I'd drive up to Sardis Church Rd and check, but it's easier to just ask
lordsutch
I got 14 up, 6 down when I tested the MGSC/Eisenhower site at the fringe of coverage last week. Haven't run one on the new site at Hartley Bridge yet. EDIT: Didn't get a chance, since Hartley Bridge is not accepting 4G connections tonight. If I had a sneaky mind I might think Sprint was monitoring Sensorly for sites that are live but shouldn't be "officially" on yet... EDIT AGAIN: Hartley Bridge is back up again. I get 13 Mbps up, 7 down indoors (LTE signal ≈-100 dBm RSRP) using RootMetrics. Ocmulgee East may also be on, since I briefly caught a signal corresponding to its expected Hex ID this evening on Hawkinsville Rd.
johnnygn2
I'm originally from Perry. It's great to see Middle Ga coming along. Can't wait to do some mapping next time I'm there!
fuelburning
I picked up a 4g signal today on Russell Pkwy in Warner Robins. It was connected from Corder road to the Base.

They must have finally thrown the switch on the site at Feagin Mill & Corder. About bloody time. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk

kn4ds
Definitely 4G along Russell Parkway. My Viper didn't get it until Kimberly, and then dropped it as I headed down the hill toward Moody Rd. I did have Sensorly mapping it (I guess it takes a while for the coverage map to update), and drove around some in the area... speed test in the old Publix parking lot got me 2822 kbps down, but only 337 kbps up. It was my lunch break, so not enough time to go further around - I did go north on Moody, then Pleasant Hill, and back through the neighborhoods west to Kimberly, never did get 4G. Kept it on Southland Station to its end, then back over to Moody.I'll see if I can get further south another time soon.

kn4ds
Sorry, meant Feagin Mill and Moody. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 I'll go home by way of Moody, see how that works. Sensorly did get some of my 228 points mapped, if you zoom in, there's now purple in Warner Robins.
kn4ds
It's definitely the tower at Moody and Feagin Mill Rd. Driving down Moody, the signal kept getting stronger... 'til I passed that tower, then it dropped off 'til I lost it over on Highway 96. Sensorly says it has no more reports to send... I trust the mapping will show up in a little while.
