I can go above 480p but if I leave YouTube on auto it will default to 480p even when I have a good connection and good speeds.

Mine doesnt do that on my galaxy S9+. How do you know it's not a iPhone thing?

I say that because I had a iPad pro 9.7 on Sprint that only liked 480p even in good areas but when I switched to Tmobile or At&t I would use 1080p.

I’ve been noticing that Sprint has been going back around and installing 8t8r’s on old Clearwire sites. Seems like they are decommissioning the clear sites days ahead of the installs and takes under a week to power on the 8t8r equipment.

True. Also it seems as if Sprint is going into overdrive on their upgrades even tho they may be merging with T-Mobile. Seems like Sprint doesn’t have much confidence that the deal will get approved.

I agree with you. Even though the current Administration is pro-business it doesn't mean the merger will get approved.

I think the Sprint/T-Mobile deal will get denied because the GOVT failed to block the ATT/Time Warner merger. I know 2 cell companies merging is different than what Att had going on but I think the Sprint merger will suffer because of it.

Yes I totally agree. But I saw that the justice department was trying to pursue some type of action against AT&T and Time Warner to undo the merger. But at least Sprint is starting to go into overdrive to get there Network in shape.

I live in the Central Jersey market so I surmised that my area may be one of the first for Sprint volte. But then again there's still a few coverage holes that need some serious density work. So I don't know how Sprint will do that but let's see what happens. I'm just excited that Sprint is still working on the network and I hope to see great improvements.

Majority of the sites are 15mhz every now and then I may hit a 10mhz site. There’s not many though.

Ocala is still waiting for 15mhz to show up. But the closest tower is only 24 miles away so it's getting close. How long did it take to see 15mhz on most towers?? I know the first wave of 10mhz showed up in August last year and the second wave in February this year. I imagine any day now we should start seeing it.

Not true for the moving part. Tmobile wants 2.5ghz as 5G only. Only massive mimo equipment would be moved but 8t8r equipment would be terminated.

True, I forgot about them wanting to shunt all 2.5GHz LTE traffic to AWS and using 2.5GHz for 5G as soon as possible.

Completely agree. There are some sites near me that are already struggling daily with single digit download speeds on 3xCA B41. No way that T-Mobile can absorb that on their existing AWS without serious problems or high densificiation. In my opinion, they'll stop deploying new B41 carriers, make sure 4x4 and 256 QAM are enabled, and then use the remaining spectrum for 5G instead. And as load on B41 is reduced as 5G capable handsets become available, they'll shut down carriers and refarm to 5G.

I completely agree. My guess is that they're planning to use Sprint's PCS and SMR to bolster the LTE network and pray that it handles the influx of 50 Million+ customers. They're probably going to try aggregating 20x20 PCS with 20x20 AWS and 5x5 SMR or 5x5 Band12 in most areas. In urban areas, they'd likely rely on LAA and either Band 4 or Band 25 to achieve gigabit speeds over LTE.

I do not believe either B25+B4 or B25+B12 CA are standardized. Aggregating PCS with their other holdings would require the new T-Mobile to run B2 carriers and I’m not sure what would happen to the PCS G Block in that case.

LTE and NR carriers can be aggregated. I don’t see why shutting down L2500 in a rush would be a smart play on new T-Mobile’s part...
